WVU’s Daejuan Funderburk arrested, dismissed after exposing himself to hotel maid

Once again, yet another headline I never figured I’d have to type.

Be that as it may, WV MetroNews is reporting that West Virginia defensive back Daejuan Funderburk was arrested and charged following a New Year’s Day incident. The incident, which occurred at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort & Spa one day prior to WVU’s Cactus Bowl win over Arizona State, led to Funderburk initially being charged with suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, indecent exposure and public sexual indecency.

And just what led to the charges? From the website’s report:

The hotel employee told Scottsdale police she was attempting to clean Funderburk’s room when he became aggressive, began touching the employee and pulled down his pants down to expose himself, according to Scottsdale police.

Funderburk has already pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, and was sentenced to five days in jail. The incident also cost him a spot on the team as he was dismissed shortly after word of the arrest reached Dana Holgorsen and his coaching staff.

Alabama lineman Cam Robinson facing felony weapons charge

Alabama All-SEC left tackle Cam Robinson was arrested in his hometown of Monroe, Louisiana, early Tuesday morning on charges of possession of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen gun.

The stolen gun charge is a felony, while the others are misdemeanors.

Teammate and backup defensive back Laurence "Hootie" Jones, who was allegedly a passenger in the vehicle Robinson was driving, was also arrested on possession of a controlled substance and illegal carrying of a weapon.

Guns and Drugs Must Be Amazing

I feel like I’m missing out on life.

I’m married. Thirteen years now. No kids, but my days are still plenty full and busy. I’m happy, but sometimes I get the feeling that there is so much more that I could be experiencing.

Like what, you ask?

Mainly just guns and drugs, really. Guns and drugs must just be the most amazing things in the world.

What makes me say this? The news, particularly Tuesday’s news that Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson was arrested and charged with felony illegal possession of a stolen firearm, as well as misdemeanor possession of narcotics. He and a teammate were also charged with possessing a handgun in the presence of narcotics.

If you’re not familiar with Robinson, he is going to be a junior in 2016 and has started 29 games in his Alabama career, including all 14 as a true freshman. This coming season is expected to be his last for the Tide before declaring early for the NFL Draft and becoming a top draft pick and cashing in on $25 million or so from whichever team selects him.

Or at least that was the expectation.

If the charges stick there will still be millions waiting for Robinson when he declares, but the fact that players — and Robinson isn’t alone in this — are willing to risk losing everything for some guns and drugs makes me feel like guns and drugs are the place to be.
