Police/Legal Blotter (stop breaking the law, asshole!)

Two 'Noles were arrested for over the weekend in separate incidents. One for stealing a laptop, and the other for grand theft of a vehicle.

I'm sure some other guys that were about to graduate yesterday were involved with Grand Theft Auto shortly before the ceremony, but almost all of them were playing a video game.

Compare the media coverage this will get during the bowl season to the coverage of a few guys trading stuff for tattoos last December. (I'm just talking about what was known before the Sugar Bowl).

So from what I gather, the "Craig James may have killed 5 hookers at SMU" thing is a joke on Craig in response to how he said something to the effect of "Ohio State may have (insert frivolous claim with no facts to back it up)." If this is the case, the campaign is not only hillarious but completely working! It's like the 3rd thing that pops up when you search Craig James. :slappy:

Gentlemen,

I have found absolutely no evidence that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU. There just isn't any substance to these unfounded allegations that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU. Why you persist in spreading rumors that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU is beyond me.

Not only is it factually baseless, it is also downright slanderous to suggest or imply that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU. Someone of his caliber and journalistic integrity would never KILL 5 HOOKERS.

In short, CRAIG JAMES did not KILL 5 HOOKERS. CRAIG JAMES did not KILL 4 HOOKERS, nor did he KILL 3 HOOKERS.

Can we now please put the allegations that CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU behind us? Please google " CRAIG JAMES KILLED 5 HOOKERS AT SMU" on a daily basis to assure yourself of this truth.

Thanks.

I believe those clever jort clad Florida fans at EDSBS originated it in response to ESPN and Craig James' pursuit of Mike Leach wrt "locking James' kid in a closet". EDSBS Spencer Hall spent a few days with Leach and is clearly on his side, as is any person or organization not named James, Tech, or the worldwide liar.

Florida DT Leon Orr arrested on pot charges

Unfortunately for Will Muschamp, the 2012 offseason has started much the same way the 2011 version did: with a player arrested on marijuana charges. Last January, it was soon-to-be-dismissed corner Janoris Jenkins. This January, according to student newspaper the Alligator, it's sophomore defensive tackle Leon Orr, arrested Jan. 10 after a search of Orr's dorm room. Orr is charged with possession of marijuana and of drug paraphernalia.
According to the police report obtained by the Alligator, university police searched Orr's dorm room (with his consent) about 30 minutes before midnight, finding a "baggy [sic] of a green leafy substance, a glass pipe and rolling papers." Orr admitted to owning the items and was arrested.
It wasn't immediately clear why police had been called to Orr's room or why they has asked to search it. Both possession charges are misdemeanors, with Orr's court date set for Feb. 8.
Since ranking as one of the top prospects in the nation when signing with Florida in 2010, Orr has been mostly relegated to backup duty, redshirting two seasons ago and collecting just 10 tackles (with one sack) in 20112.
Orr's arrest is the fifth in less than a year of a Gator player on marijuana charges, two of them belonging to Jenkins and two to other players last January. All together, eight different Gators have been arrested since Muschamp's hire, despite his pledge to have his players act in accordance with the "Florida Way."

Cont'd ..

Granted, these are still mostly Urban's guys, but perhaps the arrest record at Florida was a Florida problem and not an Urban Meyer problem.

Or perhaps it is a "college kids being college kids" problem. First off, I think pot should be treated like alcohol (legal, but highly regulated), but that is for a different thread. Secondly, just like everywhere else, it comes down to the players themselves on whether they want to follow team rules or not. It is not Muschamp's , or Meyer's, or Jabba the Weis's fault that these kids say one thing (sign a pledge) and do something opposite.
