Georgia LB Robinson arrested on battery charge

ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgia linebacker Montez Robinson has been dismissed from the team after an arrest on a misdemeanor charge of simple battery/family violence.

The Clarke County Sheriff's Department says Robinson turned himself in Sunday on a warrant issued Saturday. Officials at the jail said he would likely have a bond hearing on Monday and they could release no further information about the case.

UGA head coach Mark Richt released a statement Sunday saying Robinson was removed from the team because he did not meet "stipulations that were placed on him as a result of previous off-field issues."

Robinson was suspended in December after an arrest on charges involving altercations with a female student.

Doesn't seem so. BTW, regarding taxi driver's "Homeboy", only two phonetic "Dereks" on the team, and both are 6' 4" or 6' 5" and 290 & 265, respectively. Report does not mention them being freaking huge though.

I can't stress enough the fact that there is no proof any actual mangey poop rollers were involved...

Syracuse RB charged with assault

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Syracuse running back Delone Carter has been charged with misdemeanor assault involving a fight that injured a fellow student.

Syracuse Deputy Police Chief Joe Cecile says the charge was filed Wednesday after Carter and teammate Ryan Gillum were questioned by detectives. Gillum was not charged.

A vehicle carrying Carter, Gillum and other teammates was hit with a snowball just off campus around 1 a.m. on Feb. 27. Cecile says that when the players got out and confronted a group of students, Carter hit William Hotaling, who fell to the ground and hurt his head. He was treated for facial injuries.

Carter, a redshirt senior, led the Orange in rushing last season.

Tennessee's Myles Jr. charged on three accounts after disturbance

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee safety Darren Myles Jr. has been charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after a disturbance at a Knoxville restaurant and nightclub.

Knoxville police say Myles was arrested Sunday about 2:30 a.m. after bouncers removed him from the restaurant.

Police say the freshman then created a disturbance in the parking lot and fought with officers as they attempted to take him into custody. They say he smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet.

Tennessee coach Derek Dooley says he is disappointed in Myles' behavior and will look into the charges before deciding on any punishment.
