Police/Legal Blotter (stop breaking the law, asshole!)

That article is full of 'bama win!
"behavior probation."

"This is as fine a young man as we have in the program,"

"At this time Upshaw grabbed Gryzb by the back of the neck and hair" and appeared to try to push her down, Romine wrote in a deposition and charge sheet.

"I don't really know the whole situation, what went down, but I know we support Courtney to the fullest,"

"It's unfortunate that that happened, especially to him. He's a good guy. I think he's going to contribute to this defense."
Of course, the most telling line might be:
but would be punished internally
Punished internally? What's that? A Habanero shake, the finest bottled water from municipal Mexico City sources, and an ex-lax chaser?

Former Nebraska RB Collins convicted of murder

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Former Nebraska running back Thunder Collins was convicted Monday of first-degree murder and other charges stemming from a September 2008 shooting in Omaha that left one man dead and another seriously wounded.

The Douglas County jury also found the former Cornhuskers player guilty of attempted second-degree murder, felony assault and two weapons counts.

The 29-year-old faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison for the first-degree murder conviction. He faces up to 170 years on the other counts, said Deputy County Attorney John Alagaban. Sentencing is set for Nov. 12.

As Collins left the courtroom, he yelled at the jury of six men and six women, "Are you happy? Are you happy? You know I didn't kill anyone!"

Collins was arrested last September within a day of an Omaha shooting that left 38-year-old Timothy Thomas dead and another California man, Marshall Turner, seriously wounded.

Prosecutors said the shooting stemmed from a botched drug deal in which Collins masterminded a plan to rob the men.

Collins' attorney, Steve Lefler, argued that prosecution witnesses were lying. Lefler did not immediately respond to a phone message left Monday seeking comment.

The Gainesville Sun:

A star University of Florida gymnast was arrested Tuesday afternoon for her apparent
role in storing stolen items that police say were taken in a series of burglaries.

Tuesday's arrest of Sinclair occurred after Williams claimed that Sinclair knew the items
she was storing in her apartment were stolen. Williams said at one point he even offered
Sinclair a pearl necklace he had obtained after cutting open the 2-1/2-foot-tall stolen safe.

Sinclair, a redshirt senior standout for the Gator gymnastics team, is a nine-time All-American
and was named to the All-SEC team the past three seasons. She has scored a school-record
10.0 on the uneven parallel bars three times in her UF career.

WVU defensive tackle Berry arrested in bar incident

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- West Virginia defensive tackle Scooter Berry has been arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Morgantown Municipal Court records show Berry was arrested early Sunday morning after an incident outside a Morgantown bar. He was released on $200 bond and faces a Nov. 11 hearing.

Berry, 23, has been slowed by injuries this season. He missed two games with a shoulder sprain, and he also injured an ankle making a tackle against Marshall on Saturday.

Berry is tied for the team lead with 25 career starts. But he has played as a backup the last two games and has just four tackles and a sack this season. Sophomore Josh Taylor has replaced Berry in the starting lineup.
