Please indulge me by voting in this Nebraska-centric poll

If you actually put the money in front of me, it would probably be a much tougher decision, but I just think that an education is something that can't be passed up. He'll make his money down the line, but he'll be a better person if he goes to school. It's nice to think this in theory, but if you put that money on the table, I'm not sure if I'd hold the same ideals.

Or it could be just because I'm excited to head off to college in a few weeks. I'm sure I'd take the money after I realize I'm just another broke college student in a couple months

Take the money and play baseball. With the baseball contract he is guaranteed 7 to 8 million. If he stays at Nebraska, he is not even guaranteed to start let alone get drafted. The only thing he is guaranteed to have happen is to be yelled at by Bo. Take the millions, pay your dues with the Royals and get a lot more money as a baseball free agent down the road.

The money he's going to make on his first contract can pay for a college education many times over. College will always be available to him. The contract offer won't be. This is one of those cases where going to school is a bigger risk than going pro.

from your link, I think we should be sending some NCAA investigators Nebraska's way. Apparently 8 mill is nothing compared to how the state of Nebraska "takes care" of their football players.

They're thinking with their Husker hearts, not with their coldly rational brains. I will guarantee that if the decision was Bubba Starling signing with the Kansas Jayhawks or playing for the Royals, the vote over there would mirror ours here.

Eventually I'll link this thread in that one, and we'll see what those who voted to play ball at Nebraska say about this vote.

If the poll were less than a million and probably starting at tOSU, I'd be in college. Anything more than a million or any school besides tOSU, I'm cashin' the check.
