Nothing. The Big 12 is a mess of average all around. Theres no particularly awful teams, yes, but no one is particularly that great outside of TCU either. There's nothing there that says WOW!!! to give them the pass if they lose their title game.
Right exactly. I think the committee in this situation would play a hypothetical of who would win between osu or tcu. I think they'll decide OSU is the better team.

Hopefully if we are given that benefit of the doubt we don't embarrass ourselves lol.

TCU won't get much leniency, even if they lose by 3 at the buzzer they are still liable to get left out for us. We've seen this show before though in 2014. When they got the chance to leave a TCU type team out, they did. The more they lose by the better though.
Cincinnati’s 2021 performance of a 3 TD loss to Bama hurts TCU as well. The committee would fear a repeat beatdown of a Tier 2 program.

Yep, and Cincinnati was only in because they basically had no other choice but to put them in.

They have another option if TCU happens to lose. I'd be surprised if they didn't take it. Texas or Oklahoma would still be in if they were in the situation and lost. But a team like TCU (Or a Oklahoma State or Kansas State) is not going to get that same treatment. Is it fair? Probably not, but it's how it is.

That's how it is.

They literally put us in over a team that beat us. They were right to do that because we proved we can win it all given the shot. We'll get that same shot this year if TCU loses.

Frankly (seems to be my new favorite word on this site oddly?) I really think KSU wins by 2 scores. They've been burning through teams lately and TCU has been struggling.

You might be right, but remember in 2014 OSU got in over TCU because they just won the Big Ten Championship 59-0. This time our last game OSU was beat 28-3 in the second half. Big difference IMO. OSU has been playing pretty bad ball the last 4-5 weeks. I assume mostly due to injury.

All of us can also recognize the preferential treatment and benefit of the doubt Bama (and the SEC in general) receives when it’s time for these debates. Hell, they were literally just weighing the talking points between Bama and tOSU where rankings are concerned and pleading with the committee to get a favorable answer for Bama’s playoff hopes.

All of it boils down to being a big ol’ pot of biased bullshit. Bama has played bad ball all year against subpar competition, Georgia has played bad ball against teams that should be ROASTED by any #1 squad worth their salt, TCU has squeaked by game after game that they could have lost in a laughable conference, etc. etc.

Personally, I believe this Ohio State team is better top to bottom than all of these others in the top six when they’re healthy.

There in lies the problem; actually they haven't been 100% healthy in any game this all year. Fleming and Pryor didn't play vs Notre Dame; and Smith-Njigba was injured in the 1st quarter. It went down hill pretty fast after that especially with RBs and DBs. But that's football; you play who you have available. It's next man up.

I agree and have said all year that I believe OSU is the BEST Team in the nation when healthy.

And yes Bama should probably be ranked more like 8th. They could have easily lost 2 or more additional games. It will be a shame if OSU doesn't make the playoff because they played horrible for 1 half of a football game. Won all 11 games by double digits too.

So, that brings me to the next issue: the next men up have to execute properly. That has been very hit or miss, unfortunately.

Yeah, the next man up probably:

1) isn't as good as the man he's replacing (or he would have been the starter)
2) hasn't got too many practice snaps with the #1 unit
3) just came off the "DL" and hasn't practiced that much
and/or
4) is not 100% comfortable/confident in his play and his primary focus is to "not screw up" when he should be just concerned about playing his position and aggressively "making the play".

All good points. One game I can point to where they were executing at a very high level is the one against the Badgers. I understand they haven’t had a very good team this year, but the overall execution from the Buckeyes was great.
