Pittsburgh vs Washington: Second Round

Defense or not, great goalies need to stop shots in the Stanley Cup playoffs in order to win. Unless all the goals were PP , I'm not giving him a break for giving up 5 goals in a potential series-clinching game.

It's certainly not all his fault, but you can not let in 5 goals !!!!

Oh I definitely agree, but the defense hasn't really done much to help (for the most part). They're giving their guys a lot of room sometimes..

I'm not so sure bout that man. We're holding them to almost 1/2 the shots that we're taking, and we lead the league in blocked shots in the playoffs. The defense is battling hard, but Fleury is just not playing to his capabilities. IMO, he's tired but he's gonna have to suck it up because if we beat Washington we have plenty more hockey to be played...

By the way I had a dream Miro Satan scored the game winner tomorrow night. hahaha Just throwin that out there if it does happen.

Orpik and Gill have both had some pretty huge mental lapses and cost the team. Gill just looks too slow out there. They're not getting a ton of shots, but they're getting the same amounts of legitimate chances.

Now I agree with that. Gill looks really slow out there. Does it pain any other pens fan to see him turn and retrieve a puck when there's another player baring down on him? You know he's losing the battle to the puck.

IMO, Fleury jus has to give up 3 goals or less. To be honest I think he has to keep it to 2 for a win tomorrow.

Now we are on the same page. :tongue2:

Fleury's going to have to bring it tomorrow. Malkin is too. Staal needs to be the defensive/corner force that he can be. Crosby will be Crosby. I'm pretty confident in Scuderi's ability to make Ovechkin try to force things, so hopefully the other Capitals don't step up like they have been.. bad time for Semin to get hot. (<-- :sick1:)

I could care less about Semin, but Kozlov worries me because he is pretty strong on the puck.

Bottom line is if Fleury's save percentage isn't .900+ game set match.

if they shoot 27 times he better get to atleast 24 of them.
