Man, every time Ovechkin takes a run at Malkin, something bad happens to him. It's wonderful. Last year, Ovechkin was flipped into the boards. This time, he breaks Nik Backstrom.
Crosby's performance in this game was incredible and story-worthy. Statement game for Sid. Reminded me of Jagr's 4 assist performance against Washington in 2000, when the Pens won 7-0. I love his up-close quad-deke to 5 hole breakaway / shootout move. Watching Crosby burn Jose Threeormore is always fun.
Bring on Boston / Carolina! And, I hope that the NHL benefits from the great hockey of this series.
I think it has. ESPN has been a little hockey-happy today. It's nice. Jordan Staal was on ESPN, the highlights are the first thing they're showing, Mike & Mike had a hockey segment, Skip Bayless and Woody Paige debated it, etc. Impressive from them..
it could be exciting potential staal brother stories. boston is a big hockey market.
out west you may have hawks v wings/ducks. that has the obvious o-6 rivalry or the la market involved. should be interesting, then again i tend to enjoy it all no matter what...
