Flyers end the streak.. over with 12 in a row.

Crosby had two assists. That makes his point streak 19 games, matching the longest point streak of his NHL career. 20 goals, 38 points in 19 games.

Malkin looked much better. Still made some dumb plays, but I'm glad he looked better.

Godard fights with Carkner about a minute into the game and now he's questionable to return. Someone is going to have to remind me, again, how fighting is such an important part of the game. :roll2:

I like fighting when it has a purpose. Not sure what purpose it has that soon after the start when you're not at home. The Sens got momentum from that fight and never gave it up. I also don't see the point in having Godard on the roster when Engelland is in the lineup. At least Engelland can contribute with some decent defense for 10-15 minutes per game along with above-average fighting ability imo.

Dustin Jeffrey > Eric Godard

Pretty miserable game in the offensive zone for the Pens so far. About 340 offsides, no good chances. Also a terrible game for Sid so far. His first penalty resulted in a goal and he took another penalty and the Sens scored before the whistle blew for a PP. And he's made some awful passes.

Both goals came from shots from d-men, hard to blame Fleury for those.

I am enjoying this shiny new NHL Gamecenter Live my parents got me for Christmas though. :biggrin:

Fighting only "serves a purpose" because the NHL tolerates goon play and fighting. If the penalties were harsher, there would be no "purpose" for any of it. There are no goons in international play because guys get suspended for games if they pull that shit. Hence, there's no need to fight either. They just play hockey. Imagine that.

That said, the Sens seem to match up well with the Pens. They've already won twice in Pittsburgh, and they're up 3-0 tonight.

Sid scores, 25 game point streak now. 31 goals on the season. He's on a different level than anyone else in the NHL.

Byfuglien has a dangerous shot. And I meant it as in he can score from anywhere on the ice with it, and he can kill someone easier than anyone I've seen since Al Macinnis maybe?

And Crosby just scored again.. lol.

Islanders beat the Pens in a shootout, Crosby held pointless. :(

They played some hardcore trap and neutralized Crosby. He beat DiPietro once, but he hit the crossbar. The Islanders played really well tonight. Have to give them credit.

Kunitz - Crosby - Dupuis
Cooke - Staal - Malkin
Connor - Letestu - Kennedy
Asham - Talbot - Adams

Every line is going to be such a pain in the ass to play against.

Can't wait to see this team at full strength. I hope that once they put Staal and Malkin together we can get Malkin going. With him and Crosby going full-tilt Pens are almost unstoppable.
