Pittsburgh Penguins (Official Thread)

You can chalk this series up. New York is completely spent. Best thing you can hope for now is Montreal & Boston to beat each other up in Seven and for Montreal to advance. Pens are looking mighty good this series.

@3074326 so does St. Louis. He didn't even try on the Kunitz goal. The whole team is in disarray.

And there's the real Marc-Andre Fleury we've become accustomed too. Back-to-back shutouts were too good to be true after all.

Might as well keep committing penalties at the rate New York is giving up shorthanded chances.

The way that period ended, it's going to be a bloodbath in the 3rd.

Seven games it is then. Shocked New York evened up the series after back-to-back stinkers in Games 3 & 4. I thought they were finished. This was easily one of the laziest games I've seen from Malkin. He looked completely uninterested most of the game & it showed. New York getting under Crosby's skin didn't help any matters either.

After last year's sorry playoff performance, the regular season record doesn't really matter this year. The Pens will be judged by what they do in the playoffs. As I type this they've erased a two goal deficit to Columbus in the first game, but the fact they've allowed a power play AND short handed goal already - to a team they swept 5-0 this season - is not a good sign.

I'll believe this year's playoffs will be different when I see it.

Gee, what a surprise. The Pens, again, lose the ability to score goals and go out with a whimper. A 3-1 series lead, two of the last 3 games at home, and they score 3 fucking goals - total - in those 3 games. Bylsma is gone. They can't bring him back, again, but honestly no matter the coach your "stars" can't disappear like Crosby and Malkin have the last 2 playoffs. The change needs to be made but as I said before these playoffs, I'll believe it'll be different next time when I see it.

Here's another idea: get some defensemen who actually play defense first. Niskanen played like ass against the Rangers and Letang isn't worth his contract. Too many times skaters are turned loose in the slot to pick their spot without being bothered by someone actually marking them. This team needs some toughness, and a new approach to playoff hockey.

The stars will disappear until they have players around them who can create offense for themselves. They simply don't have that. Shero gutted the team and Bylsma ran it into the ground. They scratched Bennett for Glass tonight, lol.

Dan is gone and it's about motherfucking time. Trade Letang for a winger. Re-sign Stempniak and Goc. Trade Sutter for a winger. He is going to be too expensive and his value is at an all-time high. Get rid of the dead weight (Orpik, Scuderi, Glass, Adams).

Time to get younger, and better.

Yep, the bet should be on what day it will be. I'm thinking Friday afternoon.

What's hilarious is that the last time I thought he could get fired, they extended him. I don't think he makes it this time obviously, but I am not opposed to getting rid of Shero either. He's the one drafting defensemen every fucking draft and completely ignoring the team's biggest needs. And when he did make good trades (Iginla), Dan put him on his off-wing with Malkin instead of where he was truly needed (with Crosby). Bylsma is Shero's coach. He lived and died with him. Time for some new blood. Shero's strategy has run it's course. He's a great GM, but not the one this team needs anymore. And I question his judgement..
