Looks like it wont be Donald Washington for OSU. :(

He's playing.

In my mind, there is little doubt that the single-biggest key player in this game is Beanie Wells. If LSU can shut him down (which I doubt), then LSU wins...period. If Beanie has a good game 100-130 yards, OSU's chances are good. If Beanie runs for 140+, game over...

Since the 1998 NC game, here are the positions that were awarded the game MVP. Surprisingly, QBs and WRs have won it for a total of 8 times, while only 1 RB has won it.

QB - 5 times
WR - 3 times
RB - 1 time

S -- 2 times
CB - 1 time
LB - 1 time
DE - 1 time

1998 -- WR, CB

1999 -- WR

2000 -- LB

2001 -- QB, WR

2002 -- QB, S

2003 -- RB

2004 -- QB

2005 -- QB, S

2006 -- QB, DE

What if he rushes for 150, but doesn't score. You still think game over?

Yep. His rushing for 150+ yards would mean that we're moving the ball and controlling the clock, and most likely sitting on a lead. Just because he himself doesn't score doesn't means he's not putting us in a position to have others score.

I would agree that giving up 150 would not be good for us, unless we won the TO battle by a large margin and got a hell of a performance out of our special teams.

Will Jan 7th ever get here? I'm maxed out on talking & writing about the game.

LSU is not going to let Wells beat them. So if OSU wins the game the MVP will probably be their QB.

If LSU wins the game it may be a defensive player or Trindon Holliday that will win the MVP. Best person on LSU's offense will be Flynn becuase LSU spreads the ball around to its playmakers.

NC MVPs

OSU - Malcom Jenkins

LSU - Colt David

Every time I watch an LSU game (twice this year) Colt David has about 5 FG a game. And the way the sports announcers talk, he should have won the Heisman Trophy.

I expect a big game from Beanie and Robo...but I'd like MJ and the D to have a good game.
