PG Mike Conley (1st Team All BIG, NBA All-Star, Oscar Winner, Minnesota Timberwolves)

Conley's steal on the inbounds play was a turning point in this game. Led to Lewis's "and-1" that cut the lead all the way down to 2 and seemed to bring a ton of energy back to the team and the fans.

And an outstanding OT to boot. Heckuva game, Mike!!!!

I think after the "and-1" the lead was down to what Gus Johnson would call "a penny". Or just one bean for you. :wink2:

59-58 after the free throw.

I'm part of the minority that thinks we will lose Conley to the NBA at the end of this season. I'd like to keep him around for another year though, we will need to keep him around to get the ball to all of the weapons Matta is bringing in.

There's no way he's leaving this year. If he does, I'll let you neg the crap out of me.

Kinda agree with BuckWrestler.....of the three, Oden, Cook, and Conley, I think that Conley has the 'quicks' and stamina that the next level covets. His taking over the game when Oden fouled out was nothing short of masterful. I'm more concerned about Conley leaving than Oden.

If wishes were ponies, beggars would ride......but I think we get one more year after this one, regardless if they cut the final nets down or not. Then I think they all go to the NBA. Matta is planning on at least two going early, as he has more verbals than available schollies over the next three years.

But until that time, enjoy the spectacle. A great mixture of great freshmen (best tall guy since Lucas), quick legs, and senior leadership auger well. Could be the start of a dynasty. They don't last forever, so let's enjoy whilst we can......

i will try to find the link, but im pretty sure that conley said something along the lines of people dont have to worry about him leaving, he said he will be around for a long while or something like that.

That is basically what he said, and I'm sure he is sincere, but the reality is, when the season is over he will have to seriously consider his options... I think he is definately ready IMO.

btw, Gonzo, and Pitt both adamantly said there was no doubt they were coming back during the 2006 season (Although Pitt started to waver late in the year.)

I would have strongly said bologna a couple of weeks ago, but the hype machine has blown this up to where it may be more of a possibility.

I might add that I think that he deserves all of the buzz that he's generated. One heck of a player. Wow!

IMO, Conley is ready now for the NBA, but he obviously has some learning to do. Getting in these close games gives him good experience on how to handle himself and also how to take over when the team's other star fouls out of the game. Even though he is ready now IMO, I think it would be smartest and more beneficial for him to stay until after his junior year.

Without a doubt Conley will finish as the greatest PG ever at Ohio State, if he stays. How many years can we get out of Mike? Thats the question if he stays 3 years total in this system, doubtful, then he may even pass magic as the greatest PG in Big10 history. I would be inclined to give him the Buckeye mantle if he stays one more year with the same type of results he had this season. I'm very happy he ended up in Scarlet and Gray. Him and Oden are a fantastic duo but you add in Butlers cool, Lewis' flash and Cook's potential?! This is a special team.

Sure enough. I saw that in the paper yesterday and knew that you had ably already corrected me. Well done!
