PG Desi "DJ" Carton (transfer to Marquette)

I was listening to the pregame radio show and Keels asked Holtmann about DJ and CH said that he could not say anything about Carton because currently he is totally removed from the basketball program And then watching the game on TV the play-by-play guy says that Carton could be back playing basketball this week. I guess it is best not to even think about his situation when you get that type of information.

Not sure of "if" rather than a "when" answer here. But, in order to be eligible to play basketball, one has to be academically 'on target'. Not quite sure whether that's to graduate or to advance with your class, but if he's back on campus, he's fulfilling his classroom responsibilities (else he'd be at home in Iowa, right?). So, if he decides to return to basketball this year, and the coach and team agree (?), then it'll be the right time. As Steve19 said, "get yourself right". Life is a marathon, not a sprint. Build a good base, and good luck. Go Bucks!

I think DJ might be classified as a person with a disability and students who have disabilities (physical and otherwise) get a little bit of leeway (cannot think of a better word) when it comes to classes and tests. I would not worry about the academic side of it right now but I would worry about him coming back to Ohio State next season.

I know a little bit about the Office of the Physically Impaired and how it is administered.

1. if carton were to return this season, i assume he'd practice with the team for about a week before playing in a game.

2. we've yet to hear that he's been practicing with the team, which is information that would leak.

3. our first tournament game is just over a week away.

so, yeah, i've given up on the hope that we'll see carton again this season. i still have hope for next season, though.
