This may be a matter of maturity. But based on the comments from his mother, it may well be more than that. From what little I have read it appears to be a mental issue that dates back to high school. If that is the case, no amount of maturity will help. As LitlBuck said, I will be pleasantly surprised if he plays for tOSU again. I sincerely hope he gets whatever help he needs, which is far more important than a game.Agreed. There is not much substitution for the high school honey's attention, and Mom's apple pie. Homesick, certainly. But maturity is having to soldier on. Surprised that some of the upper classmen haven't taken him under their win to provide some sense of family. Wouldn't have guessed that. Hope this young man gets through this, but like LitlBuck, would be pleasantly surprised. Had forgotten all about Musa Jallow…...but the Buckeyes have zero fire power right now. Collapsing on Kaleb and daring the other Buckeyes to shoot. Easy work plan. Go Bucks. PS, also agree that this has been an upside down year. The B10 doesn't seem to follow any known pattern. #2 one week, out of the T25 rankings the next (tOSU and MSU).
I think it's more than "homesick" if he's been dealing with it since High School.I don’t think they would destroy his future NBA draft stock if this were a simple case of being homesick.
I will be pleasantly surprised if I see DJ back at Ohio State playing basketball in the future.

He has to literally rebuild his entire brand at this point.
Again, correct. You keep agreeing with me, but communicating in a manner that you don’t. Odd.Dude, when you're in the middle of a mental health crisis, the last thing one should be worried about is their "brand."
the fact that he went back home does not bode well for him playing basketball at Ohio State in the future… IMO and it is not his fault
