Anyone who seriously believes guard play in the SEC measures up favorably against guard play in the B1G has the Mark May seriously with them. Really stupid comment by the Wildcat fan.

I don't think anyone credibly characterizes Jordan Taylor, Kalin Lucas, Juice Thompson, Talor Battle, Eric May or E'Twaun Moore as "unathletic." And you sure can't do so with Will Buford. Frankly, I don't think Brandon Knight measures up particularly well with any of these from an athletic standpoint, though he's a very good guard.

But none of those guys you mentioned have SEC speed.

15 assists tonight is awesome! Way to go Aaron!

The CBS ticker announced that Kendall Marshall had set a new UNC NCAA record for assists with 14 in the Tarheels win over UWash.

I haven't heard any mention of Craft's 15 which is also a new Buckeye NCAA record, passing Mark Baker who held the previous OSU NCAA mark with 9 on two different occassions in 1991 and 1992.

According to the OSU Record Books, Aaron Craft with the 15 assists also set a new mark for OSU in all games passing Curtis Wilson's previous high mark of 14 set in 1988 at Purdue.
Congratulations on your new Buckeye all time records Mr. Craft!

Aaron Craft's sixth-starter status serves Buckeyes well
PUBLISHED Sunday, Mar 20, 2011
Mike DeCourcy Sporting News

CLEVELAND?Some say he is the best sixth man in college basketball, and if Aaron Craft were a sixth man, that likely would be true. A sixth man? He is as much a starter as anyone who has his name called by the public address announcer prior to the game and walks on the floor for the opening tip.

It is a curious little dance the Ohio State Buckeyes perform at the start of every game. Big senior Dallas Lauderdale?a useful player, but no longer one of the Buckeyes? five best?is presented with the starters, does what he can to make a contribution in the first several minutes, and Craft is summoned from his seat by coach Thad Matta and sent in to replace him.

Then, circumstances permitting and/or demanding, Craft does what every other Buckeyes starter does: He stays on the floor the rest of the game.

Sunday in the 2011 NCAA Tournament at the Quicken Loans Arena, Craft still was in there with 4 minutes left and the Buckeyes ahead by 34 points in their utter destruction of George Mason. Craft had 15 assists by then, a career best, and so many were of the did-you-see-that variety he could release his own mix tape today.

The two that were most ridiculous: a 35-foot pass fired out of a double-team on the right wing to All-America center Jared Sullinger on the left block, who immediately scored on a layup. Craft said he trusted Sullinger?s hands on that one, figured he?d catch anything thrown that way.

The second, Craft launched while seated on his behind facing guard Jon Diebler. Craft came to be in that position after collecting the ball in a scramble, one he admitted was of his own making.

?I was mad at myself for losing the ball in the first place,? Craft said. ?I was happy to see Jon?s guy come after it. Like all the assists, the guys knocked down threes for me.?

15 assists in an all-time record for a freshman in the NCAA Tournament, and it is the 4th highest assist total ever in the NCAA Tournament. Dispatch The tournament record is 18, set by UNLV's Mark Wade against Indiana in 1987.

If somebody had recorded the 4th highest point total in the NCAA Tournament, it would be somewhere between 52 and 55 points, and there would be a great deal more attention paid to it.
