It's sad to lose Othello now. It seems like everything is really starting to click for him.

Same here. He needs one more year of college and he'll be a monster. He took to basketball maybe a little too late to get the offensive side down, but I agree with comparisons to 'the worm' on defense. The biggest hole I've seen in Othello's game over the last month was a lack of self-confidence, and I don't know that the NBA or the D-League is going to be the place to fix that. I hope he finds a good coach who is sympathetic to his inexperience and brings him along so he can blossom into a star.OSUBasketballJunkie;1131796; said:I wish Othello had another year......thanks for the memories Othello and I hope you find success at the next level.
Butler, Hunter in Portsmouth
Othello Hunter had 17 points and 13 rebounds last night in his first game in the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational Tournament, where college seniors with hopes of playing professionally try to hook an invitation to the NBA pre-draft camp in Orlando, Fla., in late May. Hunter made eight of 10 shots from the field.
Jamar Butler had nine points and three assists in his first game. He made only three of 10 field-goal attempts, all of them threes.
Hunter?s team, which lost its first game, is playing in a consolation game as I write; I will update later. Butler?s team, which won its first game, does not play again until a semifinal Friday night.

"O" is showin' up in Portsmouth
One of coach Thad Matta?s favorite sayings before practice and games last season was, ?Which ?O? am I going to get today?? It was one way he tried to motivate Othello Hunter, who played only two years at the Division I level, to play closer to his potential than Hunter sometimes did.
Hunter has been a killer in his first two games of the Portsmouth (Va.) Invitational Tournament, where college seniors try to impress professional scouts. He had 17 points and 13 rebounds in a loss Wednesday night and 18 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and three blocked shots in just 19 minutes of a win today. He has made 14 of 19 shots from the field.
Hunter?s next game is Saturday.
The most consistent player of the teams that played their second this early afternoon was Ohio State's Othello Hunter. Yesterday, Hunter had 18 points on 6 of 9 shooting, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 blocks. Today, Hunter came back with another workman like performance with 17 points on 8 of 10 shooting, 13 rebounds, a block, a steal. Equally impressive has been his 7 of 8 from the free throw line considering he shot 54% during the season.
Hunter is the most impressive physical presence in the tournament, and has finished as strong as anyone. Today he rose so high that when he got undercut on a lay-up attempt he almost fell on top of his head in a scary fall. He has a great wingspan which can make up for being 6'8 at the power forward position. He has great mobility but will have to improve his ball handling and range to become more of a small forward threat.
Othello Hunter of Ohio State continued his strong play with his second double-double as he finished 18 points and ten rebounds. He made six of nine from the field.
