PF Nikola Kecman (official thread)

Yahoo! Welcome to the Buckeye basketball family Ninokta. You are a great addition to the team. Don't forget to bring your outside jump shot with you:)

He will be an excellent PF in the system that Matta likes to run.

Nice pickup for the Bucks, the need for a little more size with some outside shooting ability has been addressed, should definitely help ease the expected loss of KK.

Yeah I agree, both can stroke it from the outside...SHould make up for the lose of butler in terms of shooting ability...

Whew! The Buckeye's 'wall' around Serbia is now officially back up. :tongue2:

Sounds like a great addition.

...And can I suggest a chant (before espn steals the idea), whenever Mr. Kecman drains a three ball :

"Niii...kolaaaa!" (think cough drop commercial :wink2:)

Welcome to the family NK! :osu:

Kecman commits to Ohio State
Forward prospect Nicola Kecman committed to Ohio State over Kentucky, his junior college coach said on Tuesday. Kecman, a forward with three-point shooting range, had been targeted by UK.
Tim Walsh, his coach at Eastern Arizona College, cited academics as a reason for the decision, noting OSU's aviation engineering program as key.
"That really settled it," the junior college coach said. "That's what he wants to get into, and he was very impressed with what Ohio State had to offer."
Kecman was the second prospect to get away from UK this week after big man Ater Majok committed to Connecticut.

Transfer updates

Freshman forward Nicola Kecman will sign a letter of intent today to play for Ohio State, his junior college coach said.
"He's a skilled player," interim Eastern Arizona College coach Tim Walsh said. "He can run and shoot and pass. He's a very good three-point shooter."
Kecman, who is from Serbia, is 6 feet 9 but weighs only 215 pounds.
"From what I understand, once he gets there at Ohio State it won't be an issue after a while because of their strength program," Walsh said.
