Agreed. We will need him this year, so I'm hoping to see him soon against some of these lesser opponents--need to get some minutes of live game action under his belt.

LeDee is a bit undersized for the center spot (definitely shorter than Young), but will fight for position and is a pretty quick leaper. Needs to work on how to draw and finish through contact. You can tell he is a good athlete, but doesn't look all that comfortable in the post. He was a guard/SF up to about a year and a half ago, so I think he's still trying to figure out how to use his body to finish in the post.

Too soon old, too late smart
Liked his enthusiasm. Seemed to be enjoying himself out there. Saw some actual 'blocking out' from him, and a good eye for the ball, especially on the block on the lay-up. I mean, the floor was dented, he hit it down so hard. Hope he gets pushed around in practice to toughen him up for B10 games. Plays like Giddings (to me at least), where his spine is perpendicular to the floor, not at a 45 degree angle. Definitely will be keeping an eye on him. Maybe give him some growth hormone at training table? Go Bucks!

I don't think Ledee is "definitely shorter than Young," not sure what that's based on. Certainly not based on the team measurements.
That said, I do put him at about 6'8 and he doesn't have extra length (people keep describing him as long--he's not, he's average for his height, 6'9.5 wingspan), so that might hinder his upside as a post player. He's strong enough and athletic enough, but yeah, he's not going to be ideal sometimes when we're going up against teams with imposing frontcourts.
He's lost on D right now but I think once he learns the system and the mental side catches up, he has great potential to be a versatile frontcourt defender.

LeDee hasn’t seen the same type of consistent playing time that Muhammad and Washington have because he’s playing behind sophomore Kaleb Wesson. But when his number has been called, he’s made the most of his opportunities, averaging 10.7 points in three games.
“I’ve seen it from (LeDee) since June,” Wesson said. “Him going out there rebounding, playing hard for as long as he can and I feel like that’s what we need off the bench.”
LeDee’s anticipated role changed after Micah Potter abruptly decided to transfer, leaving Ohio State’s depth in the frontcourt a bit depleted.
“I just like to always be ready,” LeDee said. “That’s what coach always tells me. ‘Be ready, stay locked in the game,’ and I just saw it as an opportunity to do what I’ve got to do for the team.”
In two home games this season, Ohio State is winning by an average of 37 points leaving plenty of minutes for underclassmen and walk-ons to get a chance to gain experience. Wesson said that he remembered how important those types of minutes were so important for him last year. Even with the game already decided he stated that those minutes are great for someone new to college basketball and still trying to get adjusted to the game.
“Just being out there and getting the flow of the game as far as the speed,” Wesson said. “I often talk about how I had to learn the speed of the game and it took me awhile. I feel like our guys are learning that quick because we have games like this where they can get in and play extended minutes.”

Kid is gonna be good, these are the type of freshmen who can help build your program... it feels like we have one boarder 5star (muhammed) one high 4star (washington) and a late blooming 4star (Ledee) to me all three of these guys are playing above their ranking.

Jaedon LeDee wasn’t supposed to be starting during the stretch run. The rise of Kaleb Wesson as the most important player for the Buckeyes wasn’t supposed to be interrupted by an untimely suspension. And while Ohio State has overachieved to put itself squarely in position for the NCAA Tournament, the bid wasn’t supposed to be potentially up for grabs again after last week’s huge win over Iowa.
But that’s the situation now for Ohio State, which clearly missed Wesson during the first game of his indefinite absence last weekend and will again be sidelined on Wednesday at Northwestern. The visit to take on the Wildcats has appeared to be the kind of win that would seal another trip to the Big Dance for Chris Holtmann, but now it’s taken on a much higher degree of difficulty — and put plenty of pressure on the freshman LeDee to fill the void.
“With Kaleb being suspended by the athletic department, he will be out [at Northwestern],” Holtmann said on Tuesday. “It’s not really something I’d like to discuss right now. I think we’re trying to keep that in-house as much as possible. I think we’re trying to take it day by day, and I’m looking at it day by day and also being advised on kind of what to do by people above me.
“Everybody understands the timing and how difficult the timing is. … [LeDee] was kind of a little wide-eyed going into that environment [at Purdue] and playing against that level of game.”
The big man responded well to the challenge individually with 16 points, even though it wasn’t even close enough to bolster a collective outing that was the most lopsided of the season for the Buckeyes in a 35-point loss. The level of competition at Northwestern obviously isn’t quite the same, but LeDee will again be counted on for significant minutes in a Big Ten road game much earlier than might have been anticipated in this stage of his career.
