I drive a '96 Ford Ranger as my get around town car and listen to FM radio. There's a station that plays everything from oldies to classic rock but the problem is they play the edited versions of classic rock songs like Do it Again by Steely Dan, Beginnings by Chicago and many others. But they play the full version of Mcarthur's Park by Richard Harris. Don't understand it.

I don't understand why any oldies stations play the "edited" versions...it's not like it's still the '70s when most radio stations had to limit the songs they played to around three minutes or so.

Two-fer post tonight:

1) Pet Peeve: Strip Clubs that don't use a discrete name for credit card statements.

For instance, Magic City shows up as "Atlanta Steakhouse" (or did before the pandemic, haven't been there in a while). Well done.

But Tattletale, on the other hand, shows up as "Tattletale Topless Titty Club". Unless you work for Vivid Entertainment, it's much harder to justify that as a business expense than "Atlanta Steakhouse". I should probably punch myself, however, for expecting a place called "Tattletale" to be discreet about anything. It's still a fine establishment, just next time I need to remember to leave the credit card at home and bring A LOT of cash.

2) People to Punch: Duke fans and/or anyone currently fellating that "Retired" Rat Faced Fuck.

This is interesting:

Texas man wins $100,000 suing robocallers, shares how you can too

Not only are automated telemarketing robocalls calls to your cell phone bothersome, if you haven’t given your permission, they are illegal.

More consumers are forcing illegal robocallers to pay up, including one man from Texas.

Dan Graham, a CPA who works in Austin and Dallas, says he’s turning annoying telemarketing robocalls into cash.

"The gross is over $105,000 at this point," said Graham.

He started when the calls just kept coming, spoofing local numbers.

Graham recalled having to work away from his family and receiving robocalls that made him worry about his wife and baby.

"I've had calls from hospitals, spoofing hospital phone numbers. I haven’t seen my wife or my kid in days," said Dan. "It started getting my blood boiling."

He started filing lawsuits, and shares with other consumers how to do the same.

First, put your phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry, he says. It takes 30 days.

Then, start taking the calls to find out the business that's really calling.

Graham faked a conversation for us. "'Tell me more. What’s your name? My name is Dan. We’re selling a car warranty,'" Graham pretended. "Give them some car information. ‘I drive a 2016 Toyota Camry. Tell me more, tell me more, I’m interested.’"

Graham says he then reaches out to the company to ask them to stop the illegal practice. He says some have.

But when they don't, he sues them in small claims court for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

Settlements range from $500 to thousands of dollars, depending on how many times they've called.

So, wife and I have been looking for a nice used but hardly used car. Found one she really likes a couple of months ago. Of course everything is over priced right now. Guy keeps sending me emails that they dropped the price. Oh boy $100. That ain’t getting it done son.

Wife decided to drop by the dealership on Tuesday morning to check it out. Cars not there but she is told it’s loaned out for a person with their car in the shop and will be back later that day. We’ll call you. No call. Next day, it will be back today email. No call. Thursday night, email it should be back tomorrow.

I respond forget it, not interested. Email from sales guy asking what changed. Tell him, Umm hello you had an interested buyer and I would have done everything possible to put that car in front of me. Response: sorry I asked the Service Manager 4 times today to get me the car. Call me if you still want to see it.

JFC, does no one no anything about selling or customer service these days? Are you a dealership or a service station? Did you go to the sales manager and get his assistance? Did you think about going to get the car and swapping it with another one? Did you think about offering to drive it to my house for a test drive as an attempt to win my business back?

i guess they just don’t care about selling a car.
