I don't know is there's an opposite to the "Brands You're Loyal To" thread...if there is I couldn't find it so I'm posting it here.

Samsung appliances. Holy shit are they complete and utter garbage. Don't ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever EVER buy Samsung appliances.
Update, as expected, we're out of warranty and have been directed by Samsung to call a local technician. We did that last time because what the fuck do I know about ovens? I won't be doing it again...we'd be close to $600 invested in the oven above and beyond the purchase price in just over 4 years. I'll order a $30 igniter off Amazon and see if that works, otherwise we'll put that money towards a brand that will last us more than 2 years.

there should be a “Brands we hate/stay away form thread” because Samsung appliances would be at the top

Had a front load w/d from Samsung back in Indiana, but those were bought in '09 and lasted without issue until my mom moved down to Florida a few years ago, but I've definitely heard and seen enough about Samsung to not buy their appliances again for a while. Seems they started going to crap about 5 years ago.

I am an absolute fanboy for Samsung TVs and phones, BUT after owning their garbage front load washer and dryer I will never own another appliance made by them. My brother-in-law has a fridge and it has frozen up so many damn times and constantly needs to be defrosted.

When we bought our bank owned home a decade ago, I remembered thinking, this isn't very good but at least the bank put in something new. Both are still working today, although the oven is about as capable as a geo metro on the freeway.

As is our maytag scratch and dent fridge with solid doors (the scratch was on the side where the cabinet goes :banger:).

Meanwhile every friend and relative I know with an ice dispenser door is fed up. I'm not sure I've heard of one working beyond 5 years, usually less than 2.

Buy the electronics (TVs, monitors, phones), run and hide from the appliances, is a pretty common saying on tech forums.

My mother called for repairs on her Samsung fridge and every single repair firm told her it's best to just buy a new one. One said they flat out refuse to work on Samsung appliances because they get the blame when it inevitably goes bad again, and they don't want the bad reviews.

Amazon delivery drivers who constantly deliver packages to the wrong address, then argue with you about it when you try to correct them. They almost always deliver my mom's neighbors packages to my mom's house, when you catch them, and tell them that it's across the road you get "my app says it's here". Well fix your fucking app then, apparently it doesn't know right from left, or east from west because they also deliver my packages to the family across the road (even though I leave lengthy directions in the delivery portion of the order form). Assholes

To make it even worse, my neighbors have their name written across a 12 ft gate at the front of their driveway (we don't have the same name ).

And just like that, the next day I got a call from the Amazon driver who read the fucking instructions and was unsure. God love him, I got my fridge water filters without bothering my neighbors to put them in my mailbox.

"Ask" is a verb. Not a noun.
Don't tell me what the ask is. Just ask me the goddamned question.

In the same vein, people that say "let me ask you this" before asking a question. It's irrational how much that pisses me off. It's always the same kind of person that does it, though.

I think all of my pet peeves are irrational.

Like when people say "EST" after what time the meeting is. That's fine when it isn't daylight saving time, but when it's June and people want to set a meeting for 3:00 EST, eff you. Learn the god damned time zones. Or, when people get it backward. I had someone try to set up a meeting for 3:00EDT a month ago. FFS.
