dang, Mcgolin went from looking like Joe Montana in the first half, to Akili Smith in the second. Hell of a defensive effort there after halftime. Very impressive.

He's just a little punkass who ran his mouth too much for his own good. Like tOSU's defense hasn't seen a decent quarterback before him...

Question... Did Devon's INT happen at "The Spot"? Seems that Buckeye DB's have a tendency to pick six against PSU right about the same area of the field...

The way I took the booing (because it was what I was thinking) was that we were playing to run the clock down, not drive down the field. At that point, we had not had a single turnover nor did I remember coming close to a turnover. So why not try a drive the ball down? We had the time and we had the timeouts. I'm not taking about a 4+ yard play, but a few 7-12 yard passes would have been nice.

I know our offense wasn't producing, but mix those in with a few runs and we could have had a chance. But we lazily got to the line and it was obvious we weren't trying to go for it. That's why I thought people were booing.

I am sure that most of the players were not thinking that was the cause for the boos.

Even if that is why some folks were booing (something that I believe is absolutely misplaced at a collegiate sporting event) why do what you suggest? The offense has produced 3 points for the entire half, why think that all of a sudden they will move right down the field with some 7-12 yard passes? What if one of those 7-12 yard passes gets tipped and picked off, or tipped and picked off for a pick 6?

Sometimes it is a better football strategic move to simply get into the locker room, regroup, make adjustments, and give the team a kick in the ass. That is what JT did yesterday and I can't really argue with the 2nd half results.

This isn't directed at you Coqui, but JT has absolutely spoiled a part of the OSU "fan" base that at best are fair weather fans and at worst are ignorant about college football. The team leaves the field down 14-3 and boos are raining down?!? Give me a fucking break. I don't care how anyone rationalizes the boos (booing the coaches, booing the lack of trying to move into scoring position, etc.), the fact remains that boos were rained down onto the field, the field where the OSU team was leaving for halftime. That absolutely disgusts me.

Finally, how many of the asshats who were booing yesterday....who were "supposedly" booing the coaches....are today praising JT and what he said at halftime and adjustments the staff made especially on defense? Like I said, at best fair weather fans, at worst ignorant about college football.

To each his own but every year we seem to get a situation where the team has a bad stretch, people boo and other people get bent out of shape over it.

I personally don't have an issue with it in the context of big time athletics. The players are showered with adoration when they perform well, it would unrealistic to think a flip side to that coin will never exist. These are all big boys, they've heard far worse.

Fans cheer when they are happy and boo when they are frustrated, not earth shattering stuff. As long as they aren't singling out a specific player at this level I really don't think its that big a deal.

This is more in line with what I think to be honest. It's one thing when your team comes out and makes some mistakes, or gets out played, but its another thing when they come out flat and just don't look to be ready to play. I give the team major props for turning it around. I have never seen an OSU team come out so flat in the 1st half and turn it around and be so dominating in the 2nd half.

I totally agree that we have been spoiled. We expect TDs every time we get the ball. I know I'm in the minority of the minority of what I was explaining, but my hope was something to happen simply to get momentum before going in to the locker room to make more adjustments and come out swinging like we did.

Now had I been at the game, I wouldn't have booed still. I would have probably done a , "Aww C'mon man" moment and that was about it. I have personally witnessed Tressel make miracle adjustments after the half so I never expect a game to be over unless we're already winning or until the 4th quarter and we have no glimmer of hope.
