Game Thread Penn State vs tOSU, Sat Nov 13, 3:30 ET ABC/ESPN

People think this is a myth for some reason, but the offense always takes a step back after a bye for us. Tress being 3-4 after a bye is just as glaring as being 4-4 against Wisky. I was really hoping we could get a second score before the half to kinda wake up the offense. Glad Tress ripped them all cause they needed it.

The hold that was missed really hurt the Bucks on the first scoring drive for State Penn. That play fed the momentum for them and really led to the score.

Was glad the DBs finally adjusted to the slants that they were running like crazy.

Great Kick coverage today for once. Didn't give them any momentum after a score.

D line did ok but got eaten up alot. LBs took the brunt of that as a byproduct. Glad they all stayed healthy.

TP is still slow in trusting his reads. He makes the right read then holds it for a half second too long. The first pass was on the money but gave the db a chance to catch up. Someone brought up that he does it more when the sun goes down. Maybe a problem seeing things with the shadows?? Whatever it is, it needs to improve before he could be a legend here.

Coaches need to work on offense getting into a rhythm. They seem to wait so long to make play calls that it hinders the line and the offense as a whole. I feel that it cost us at Wisky. We get a team on its heels and then we let them regroup. We got the ball down to the 3 at Camp Randall and took the whole play clock to run an option. Not necessarily a hurry up offense, but just getting things in order while a play is ongoing to help the offense stay in a rhythm.

Can't complain about a win but some of this stuff could lose us the game next week.

Would give the team a D - in the first half. B in the second half. Luckily State Penn sucks too.

Go Bucks.

Now, now, PSU fans would never make fun of a freshman QB looking sad after losing a game, right? Let's make sure we show them just as much respect as they would show us in that situation.

Just came back from a housewarming party, filled with State Penn fans. Reading through this thread right now. Fun to read after the fact. I was not a happy camper at he half. Didn't look like we had an answer for either offense or defense. At least the special teams looked OK.

Although I'd rather dominate every game from start to finish, there is something special about a come from behind win. The Torrence pick-six was a thing of beauty. Loved seeing McGloin get humbled. Cocky fucker. Very satisfying win, even better in "enemy" territory :)

Going back to reading through the thread now.

Go Buckeyes

Continuing DB success against PSU - Chekwa INT

Will have to watch the tape though to see if it comes true - won't be anywhere near TV :(

Just got back home (not from the game :( ) and watched the highlights.

Did everyone BUT Chekwa get an INT? and Pick-6s no less...

Love the D stepping up when it mattered.

I wish I had been in the same room with the Penn St fans I know for this game. The first half would have sucked, but they would have been crying by the end of the game. It hurts so much more when you think you have a chance.

Just got back to the hotel from the game.

I don't know what it sounded like on TV but the crowd got it going in the second half and fed off the team and vice versa.

Over 300 yards rushing and 300+ yards of offense in the second half. What a tail of two halves. A butt kicking in the first half and an ass whooping in the second.

The bad. The booing at the end of the first half. I hate that. Not a fan ever. I also seemed to be surrounded by Bucknutters. The worst was the faculty member and her friend behind me that bitched the entire first half. Her friend wanted someone to "take Tressel outside and shoot him". Once Ohio State took the lead in the second half they left. Sorry for the rant but I can't stand fair weather fans.

Everything was dead the first half. The atmosphere and quality of football just plain sucked. Pathetic. I was never worried about losing the game but I knew that they needed a major attitude adjustment to come back and win it. Couldn't be happier about the second half.

Very Professional... Wonder if she is originally from Ohio, or a wannabie?

Past few years, it's worried me that the team would stay deflated if things went badly at first. This team knows how to shake it off and get back to work. In my IMO (:p), this is the biggest positive change we've seen this season.

Absolutely, Deety. Like the Rose Bowl when Oregon came back in the 3d quarter and took the lead 17-16... They didn't score again after that and we kept our cool.

I agree that Boom is the Player of the Game, but I think the play of the game might have been Torrence's pick 6 --- it was, okay, I'm not going to give you 12 yards anymore... McGloin realized that he wasn't going to be able to do the snap, throw... and he started losing his cool.

side note: I know some State Penn fans and they are loyal to Joe Pa like crazy, but man they must know it's time to get that gargoyle off the field.

Go Bucks!

I can respect a good player, but McGroin was just way too cocky. When he stared over to the the OSU sideline after that TD pass, I knew he was in for it.

The double pick six couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. He should look forward to the next few years on the bench. No way he beats out Bolden another offseason in the program.

Love that he got benched. I'm sure his girl won't even blow him tonight. He'll have to wack it.

while I was just joking, one thing I know for sure is that Evan Royster will not do a damn thing against us. that guy makes his living against awful teams and disappears in anything resembling a meaningful game.

I'll put real money on him not sniffing 80 yards.
50 yards on 17 carries (2.94 pc) with a long of 8.

you still suck, Royster. go play Temple.
