Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Are they aiming for Cignetti? Getting it over with now, may mean they have a plan in place.

Cignetti has a $10 million buyout Indiana would be owed if a team like Penn State comes calling, per The Daily Hoosier. This is typically paid by the team hiring the new coach. Under this scenario, Penn State would be on the hook for $49 million to Franklin, an additional $10 million for Cignetti's buyout and finally the coach's actual salary with the Nittany Lions. Cignetti has plenty of appeal after leading Indiana to a surprise College Football Playoff appearance.

Bro there is no plan in place that happened in under 24 hours.

This just feels like he lost the team and we don't want him to lose iowa potentially embarass them vs OSU and Indiana or perhapos worse in their eyes somehow win those and become unfireable like ole Les Miles loved to and saved his job for like 3 years

He leads indiana to the playoffs again this year which looks like a lockj and they will make that buyout insurmoutable if he's willing to take it

Probably so, but the point is they can now focus their efforts on a successor, and start lining up donations, and moving things in some sort of positive direction.

Kind of like OSU did with JT. Write the season off, and plan ahead.

I am sure it has been discussed on how to handle the situation weeks ago.

May not be Cignetti, but sure as shit that name will be on their radar.

Year one at a perennial bottom feeder and makes the playoffs. Only two losses are on the road to the national champs and the runners-up. I mean, historically, it’s about as good as it gets.

both the losses showed how far off the mark they really were and it's only 1 year.

I read more than 1 year of superficial success into the phrase "proven" but it's an opinion thing.

Oh I'm sure they are working towards a plan and will have one in the next few weeks. Just they don't have one now.

No doubt it isn't looking promising. Not many solid names out there. So they have a challenge.
