It’s nice knowing when the NFL backs up the truck for Patricia after the season, this guy won’t be allowed anywhere near the Woody.I bet Knowle's sister is taking it well
Matt Rhule. Are they aiming for Cignetti? Getting it over with now, may mean they have a plan in place.
No doubt it isn't looking promising. Not many solid names out there. So they have a challenge.
Associate coach Terry Smith will serve as the program’s interim head coach for the rest of the season.
He doubled the programs all-time win total against AP Top-5 teams in just 1 afternoon yesterday.Did I miss something besides a first round drubbing last year?
Matt Rhule.
Please make it be Dan Mullen.![]()

Plus they would also be on the hook for the current assistant's buyouts if any I would assume. Take Knowles for example, I doubt that 3.1 million contract comes wiyhout some sort of buyout if a new coach goes in a different direction. ( Karma's a bitch)![]()
$64 million College Football Playoff coach emerges as Penn State candidate: Insider
Penn State is looking for a new head coach after firing James Franklin. Find out why one Big Ten coach is being floated as a top candidate at Penn State.www.si.com
Cignetti has a $10 million buyout Indiana would be owed if a team like Penn State comes calling, per The Daily Hoosier. This is typically paid by the team hiring the new coach. Under this scenario, Penn State would be on the hook for $49 million to Franklin, an additional $10 million for Cignetti's buyout and finally the coach's actual salary with the Nittany Lions. Cignetti has plenty of appeal after leading Indiana to a surprise College Football Playoff appearance.
I'm thinking the big payoff boat sailed years ago on Rhule and Campbell. Had their chance and stayed instead.![]()

Just sayin': If they strike out with Cignetti, anyone think that they would actually go after Matt Rhule?
I could be way off, but I don't really see him leaving for the PSU job. He pretty much has it made at Indiana. He's 64 years old and making $8 mil a year right know. If he can keep them at the level they are right now or even maintain 9-10 win seasons for 5-6 years, he can retire as a legend and the Hoosiers would probably build a statue of him. They have never had that kind of success in their history. Why leave that for the pressure cooker job at PSU, and have to deal with everything there plus the Cult? I sure as Hell wouldn't.He leads indiana to the playoffs again this year which looks like a lockj and they will make that buyout insurmoutable if he's willing to take it
Because Penn State has the better history, stadium, tradition etc.I could be way off, but I don't really see him leaving for the PSU job. He pretty much has it made at Indiana.
