This keeps the ball if successful to run out more time, and not much of a risk since you're up 49-0. Also gives bench players more PT. Not to mention we were running the ball very predictably not really trying to score.

I posed a question to my wife tonight at dinner.

"In the first quarter of the Ohio State-Rutgers game, on 3rd and 1 from the 3 yard line, Ohio State seemed to be stuffed...but was given a first down anyways. Replay didn't overturn the call. The very next play...which would have been 4th and 1...Ezekiel Elliot ran it in for a 2 yard TD. Which fanbase do you think complained about it?"

She correctly answered Penn State.

Not only that - BWI had 3-4 threads about it. I looked on one of the Rutgers forums (the first two I found wanted me to be a member), and not a single thread about it. I did find one thread that they were pissed at the play calling. Another thread where they were a little unhappy at how much Kirk and Chris were talking about the cannon guys. Nothing about the refs. (Maybe I didn't look for a long enough time, but it didn't take long to find 3 or more threads on BWI.)

The few Rutgers fans around us weren't even talking about that spot. Seemed kind of iffy in person, replays were hard to see. They all basically said "they would have gotten it on 4th down anyway" and it was a non issue.

BWI's buy in to the referee conspiracy is more fun than we should be allowed to have quite frankly. It's like Lucy always getting Charlie Brown to think this time he was going to kick that damn football.

That thread is awesome. I love how much the Cult gets fixated on individual posters and begging McAndrew to ban them. I posted a grand total of one post in my life over on BWI, yet had posters calling for my banishment just because I "liked" posts that were critical of Joesus.

That being said, it appears you have some kind of secret alliance with McAndrew to avoid banishment. I always enjoy when The Cult will claim that you are on the Board of Trustees payroll and have an agenda to destroy Joesus' good name.

I got a 30 day ban from BWI last winter (January-February). I insulted Tom directly. Can't say I didn't deserve it. Something about how he didn't have the "balls" to admit he has an inside source within the Paterno family.

Another awesome thing about that thread: pnnylion and Bushwood CC are both there too! Just under different names.

A 30-day suspension during the offseason from BWI? That sounds like something the classless, cheating Urban Meyer would hand out. I was apparently banished forever, like Joesus by the Board of Trustees.
