And continued to allow Sandusky to work PSU youth football camps at the branch campuses for another 8 years after 2001. Only making Sandusky sign a CYA waiver in case he got injured at one of the camps. They cared more about Jerry than they did about some faceless kid.

This also begs the question why McQueary kept his mouth shut all these years if Joe was reinforcing the belief he must have already had that Sandusky was a monster.

Or McQueary's father, who also knew what was witnessed that night in the Ped State showers. How come in all those years, he never picked up a phone and called the authorities?

Clearly, none of these men wanted anything bad to reflect back onto their precious football program.

What bothers me so much after having lurked in here for a long, long time is the fact that so few in here take into account Joe's age. I doubt that the younger crowd (I'm looking at "Michael Mauti" for one) has much experience with older people. I have and I have my own feelings about how Joe may have interpreted what Mikey Mc told him about what he saw regarding Sandusky in the locker room

Meaning, the football program was more important than the lives of 15, possibly hundreds of innocent kids?

It's not logic. It's an emotional response to seeing a loved one exposed as criminally neglegent or worse, enabling a pedophile. I have seen families not accept the truth of a loved one being a pedophile. That is hard for families to accept let alone worshipers by the thousands.
It's ugly. It destroys the very foundation of belief.

They cannot accept it because they invested all of their self worth in a belief that Penn State was BETTER than all of the other win at all cost schools. Once you've done that it's nearly impossible to be deprogrammed.
