OK, you got me ROTFL, but jeezuz, wouldn't "horse play" warrant investigation? Is he just showering? Towel snapping? Making slappy sounds? If you were in charge of one of the top 30 programs in college football wouldn't you want to know what was going down on your watch? Joe's lack of curiosity is appalling. The fact that he closed the door on Sandusky taking over the program has to indicate some level of awareness - why wouldn't you put some effort into seeing that "Old Main" got it right and got the guy out of town before he ruined your program and your school?

And why can't his defenders even catch a glimmer of the significance of even the circumstantial evidence, let alone the testimony under oath?

Up until JerBear caught JoePed looking the other way, JoePed was supposedly the "One" at Ped State that all things Shittney Lions related ran through. After JerBear, he suddenly became a doddering old fool who doesn't understand things like man-boy anal rape and other such nonsense according to the JoePed faithful.

Seriously, you can not try to think like a Ped State cultist unless you have total disdain for anything and everybody that has the gall to try to knock Dear Leader Il Ped Joe down a peg on the Saint-o-Meter.

So Old Main, PSU legal, and the PSU police knew Sandusky was a pedophile since 1998, even kept a file on the guy, and yet he was allowed to be in charge of a youth facility, use the school's athletic facilities, given sideline passes and allowed to travel with kids to team events. But we're supposed to believe Joe Pa knew nothing.

I'm trying to imagine a group of coaches who a) don't know that prior to 98 Sandusky was the heir apparent to beloved leader and don't talk about it. b) know that the heir apparent was suddenly given an invitation to find other employment and don't talk about it. b2) don't wonder and talk about why an heir apparent to a 7 figure job and current holder of a six figure job would leave to take a five figure job. c) work for a head coach who doesn't know that his defensive coordinator was a perp and never brings it up in conversation with his staff. d) don't wonder why the former heir apparent is in charge of a youth facility, don't wonder why he's allowed to use team facilities in the company of kids, don't wonder just WTF he's doing on the sidelines with kids, don't wonder why he's at bowl games in the company of kids, don't talk about it amongst themselves, and never ask questions.

Talk about your Happy Valley...

Penn State outlasts NCAA-imposed transfer period

A year ago, Penn State president Rodney Erickson signed a consent decree from NCAA president Mark Emmert that imposed multiple severe sanctions on the program. Those punishments included a $60 million fine, scholarship losses, postseason bans, and a period of time which allowed players to leave the program for any Division 1 school without sitting out a year.

It’ll be a few more years before PSU football can get past all the sanctions — assuming they are not reversed at any point over that time period — but the Nittany Lions have been able to outlast one part. As of the beginning of fall camp (university officials said Aug. 1), any player who transfers from PSU to another FBS program will have to sit out a year, meaning the program has survived the so-called free agency period.

“Emotionally, that’s a big chunk out of the way,” PSU athletic director Dave Joyner said Wednesday. “The transfer rule is not there, so that’s one piece done.”

And, in hindsight, the number of players who took advantage of the get out of Dodge free card could have been a lot worse. Running back Silas Redd (to USC) and wide receiver Justin Brown (to Oklahoma) were among the biggest names to leave the program last year, but 2013, outside of quarterback Steven Bench‘s transfer, has been much quieter.

There will be more players who undoubtedly leave Penn State for one reason or another — that’s simple roster attrition — but the bonus of immediate eligibility will no longer be there.

Silas Redd can go to hell! His character would have been much better and so would his season had he remained on the Penn State roster. I’m sorry but I just do not agree with penalizing the present PSU Football program. Just does not make sense. And now with the indictments of the ex-President, Vice-President of Finance, and the ex-AD, the alleged culprits will now have their day in court. Coach Paterno, may he rest in peace, did not live long enough to defend himself. It’s a no win situation for all involved. However, PENN STATE UNIVERSITY remains one of the finest state university’s in our country. Their rank-in-file student body exemplifies what the total collegiate experience is about. Just look at the millions of dollars raised by “THON”.
