He was found guilty on 4 of the 5 counts relating to the McQueary testimony (victim #2). He was found not guilty only on the top count. One juror basically said that McQueary's testimony was instrumental in convicting Sandusky. I don't know how this falsehood that Sandusky was found not guilty, with regards to victim #2 (witnessed by McQueary), has come about, but it is wrong. He was convicted on the McQueary testimony also.

in regards to the charges against sandusky concerning victim 2, sandusky was found not guilty for involuntary deviant sexual intercourse because mcqueary never saw actual penetration. however, sandusky was still found guilty for indecent assault (on victim 2), unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of a minor, and endangering the welfare of a child. mcqueary's testimony was integral to these charges sticking.

edit: damn you, saw. zurp's message was posted nearly 6 hours ago and you decide to post your response 2 minutes before mine? :hatepc:

Wow. That goes against my memory of the results of the trial. Since my memory is usually less than stellar in matters like this, I'll assume you guys are right.

BTW if you've never seen the movie Nothing But Trouble I can't recommend it highly enough. It is an excellent cautionary tale on the potential pitfalls of getting lost and ending up in Happy Valley while on your way to Atlantic City.

Something occurred to me tonight.

In Ped State, we have an entity that the powers-that-be thought would be a good addition to a cast of characters was already excellent on its own. The great cast of characters remained excellent, but it soon became obvious that the newcomer was annoying at best, a serious drain on its reputation at worst. Many gave this newcomer a chance, only to be immediately turned off by its boasting, its insistence on commanding attention, its overinflated sense of value. A once great entity was mocked because of the newcomer's inclusion and despite repeated calls for its ouster, it remained, dragging down everyone associated with it. It is reviled by most, but a few diehard fans remain, for reasons that are unfathomable by the vast majority.

This newcomer idolized a hapless coward who was repeatedly exposed to be anything but the deity they thought he was. Time and time again, circumstances would arise that shone a light on the flaws in this false idol - flaws that were apparent to every other member, yet this newcomer was blind to it.

So what occurred to me? This:

If they get those numbers a little lower they will feel more at home in the ACC.

those numbers are misleading.

Sandusky not bringing his victims, or whatever you call them, to games has account for a chunk of that drop-off.

The fact that they were able to obtain several convictions on the rape of victim #2 without actually having a victim identified and with little more than McQueary's testimony tells you something about just how compelling his testimony was.
