At least the NCAA waited til Monday and didn't ruin anyone's weekend.

Big Ten Media Day(s) starts Thursday.

It at least gives Bill O'Brien and Co. some time to prepare to answer any questions. Could've also been a favor to Jim Delany, not to spring this on him and the conference during Media Day (Thurs. & Fri.).

But if the NCAA really wanted to bury it, Friday would've been a very good day (Olympic Opening Ceremony and second day of Big Ten Media Day).

Sometimes they whistle past the graveyard - sometimes the graveyard whistles by them ...

I told him, "Dude, it should tell you how bad your freaking program is when the only guy that you could get to be the head coach there is the guy that Tom Brady (from TSUN) almost got into a fight with on the sidelines."

I also told him, "Your program is almost as six feet under as your previous head coach and his coaching career..."

Bill O'Brien: As Smart as He is Handsome.

Should have waited for the FACTS! to come out, Barney.

Was probably a condition of somebody like him getting an offer in the first place.

They're interviewing a Penn State beat writer on BTN right now, and he raised the possibility that an NFL team could rescue him and buy out his contract because he's still well-regarded as a pro coach. Yeah, this is a coach who was replaced several weeks before he actually left. I'm sure the NFL is dying to have Bill O'Baggins back.

Wow, ESPN is floating out that Penn State got a TV ban (at least on ESPN Radio).

There isn't a TV ban.
PSU has been busted down to a scholarship count approximate to what FCS schools are allowed (63) and are banned from post-season play until current 8th graders would be incoming Freshmen. In two or three years they'll be worse than Indiana.

That's pretty much the same as a TV ban.
