Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

And now "Jay" has descended from his mountaintop to offer his opinion, and the cult is in thrall to his wisdom. What's even funnier is that they just can't stop at agreeing with him. Oh no. Rather, they have to wax poetic at how eloquent and profound his writing is when, in reality it is the overblown, sophomoric rhetoric of some 19 year old goth chick trying to impress a community college English teacher.

And as an aside, it never ceases to amaze me how they refer to the family as Joe and Sue and Jay and Scott. As if this forced, false sense of true intimacy somehow brings them closer to the light and makes them even better people. Somebody else recently commented on how they have entire threads devoted to randomly bumping into Joesus somewhere and how it, to this day, gives validity to their existence.

Could our active troll perhaps get them lathered up in a campaign to have "Jay" named as President of the university after they've successfully taken over the BoT.
This is the same JayPa that was universally scorned when he was actually employed by the university, right? The same guy that most of them called "the worst coach on the planet" and lamented how far THAT apple had fallen from the tree? This is THAT Jay, right?

HARRISBURG, Pa. -- As fallout over the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal continues, Penn State's new president and other university officials asked members of the school's huge community on Friday to at least be polite if they cannot agree with each other.

The 450-word message posted on Penn State's website from President Eric Barron and dozens of administrators and faculty members comes two weeks into the fall semester and nearly three years after Sandusky was arrested.

New PSU president Eric Barron called for civility in a 450-word message to the university community.
It does not mention Sandusky. Rather, it notes that Penn State's traditional bonds are under stress and cites one issue "of particular concern."

"There are honest disagreements on fundamental issues related to whether our institution acted appropriately, how our institution handled a crisis, and whether the sanctions that resulted are appropriate," it said. "Reasonable people can be found on all sides of these issues. The reasons for this disagreement are clear. Much is still left to interpretation and the issues have considerable emotional significance to us all. We are likely never to have the full story. We are equally likely never to reach consensus."

^ essentially a "can't we all just get along" post on the University Website should put everyone at ease.

What would be really neat would be if this note from PSU president exposes to the rest of the CFB country that there are a significant number of PSU who still have a culture problem. I doubt that your average CFB fan realizes the denial this group is under. It would be great if that were exposed beyond just Dennis Dodd.

Speaking of which, surely Dodd will write an article about this plea for civility right???
