Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

And after the fact, good people don't say, oh well, I don't know what I would have done. They say, if I haven't already, I am deciding right now what I would do so I am never tempted into something that causes such great harm. What kind of person thinks through this situation day after day on those message boards and still has no inkling what they would do? Don't you... decide?
Much like Joe inventing instant replay for us all to enjoy, he should also get credit now for being such a good Samaritan that he has allowed us to think about what we would do if somebody ever told us there was a person raping children and we could stop it. They give Nobel Peace Prizes out posthumously, don't they?

Completely off topic, but as an Agnostic ... people like Bushwood CC have always made me feel grateful that religion exists. If you need religion to have morals and values, then by all means... please... keep the faith.

An off topic response: If the only reason you're making a supposedly moral choice is due to fear of punishment by a higher power, that isn't morality, that's cowardice. Assuming one has the capacity for empathy, a far more reliable moral compass is concern for the consequences of your actions on another being. (IMO)

Reminds me of a church-going religious guy I knew. He had a pet cat he didn't want to keep. He had a choice. He could take it to a non-euthanasia shelter that only accepted strays, and lie that he found a lost cat to get them to take it in. Or, he could take it to a county pound that accepted pets and killed them. Because he was so "moral" he refused to lie (that would offend God and he might be sent to hell) and instead gave the kitty up to the pound. At no time did it occur to him in his smug certainty of righteousness that what he'd actually done was condemn a dependent, innocent creature to death to cover his own ass. Fear of punishment vs. empathy: they don't always render the same result. (He just better hope any deity he encounters in the future isn't a cat-lover. I'm just sayin'...)

Jeff Dahmer was a great guy his entire life. Right up until he started murdering folks and grubbing on human flesh.

Really makes me ask the tough questions about myself. Will I kill and eat people? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Would they be M*ch*gan fans?

Some context is needed for moral parables is all I'm saying.

I agree; with our new leader they can be crushed and silenced.

JoePa Il II: 'Kay. I officially hate this guy now.

We've learned that Coach Franklin has the "courage of his convictions" and is not afraid to "be his own man" and won't be treated like a servant or toady by the corrupt BOT and their jack-booted, consensus enforcing "thought police" and Gestapo.

As usual, words don't mean the same thing to the cult that they do to "normal" people.
Oh, "crap!!" That "" thing is "catching".

Anybody know exactly what kind of NC2A violation he'd have to cause while still under probation that would get them the death penalty? 'Cause that is sure what I'm rooting for.

Just talk among yourselves, never mind me, I just can't stop myself. Too many...they're like peanuts and potato chips...arsenic-laced peanuts and potato chips...

Far as I can tell, he is speaking in a pretty straight-forward, non-obtuse manner

I assume he means it. Glad someone is finally acknowledging Joe. Maybe he can get the statue back

Statue Up, Names off, Statue Up, Names off...obsess much?

Thank you Coach Franklin - spoken with the humility and courage that empowers true greatness.....CJF is "honored" to carry the torch, to be Defender of the Faith for PSU, to defend PSU's Tradition and Legacy including "the Great Joe Paterno".....

If this guy plays other teams on the field as strategically as he is playing these gullible clowns, every coach in the BIG is gonna have their work cut out for them come game day.

And I'm the one living on "Fantasy Island"??? Something tells me that the simpler explanation under "Occam's Razor" is that CJF is being "his own man" and simply giving us his straight opinion regarding JVP, PSU's Program and PSU's Tradition - beliefs he has held since he was a youth growing up in Pennsylvania "Pennsylvania boy with a Penn State heart".

Methinks I spy the fresh, green sprouts of a new legend pushing up through the soil manure pile here.
*Imagine I had time to photoshop a pic of Franklin dressed as Sir Galahad. Insert here.

Of course it is. Not like he could possibly have any ulterior motive for servicing the cult.

JF's tweet about Joe is very appropriate. You'll see more tolerance of praise for JoePa from Penn State officials now simply because most of the public outrage over the Scandal has cooled.

Well, I know I'm over it...

it had bubkiss to do with "joebots"

Ohh, Bushwood...isn't "bubkissing" what started this whole mess in the first place?

(Ord, 'fess up, is this you again?)

Since this story first broke on the 'net, Comments sections have been riddled with imbecilic remarks that essentially say "You can't judge. You can't possibly be certain what you would have done in a similar situation." Aside from their own ignorance, what the HELL makes them so certain that no one else ever has been in a similar situation?

Oh, and Buckyle: No offense, but I'm gonna pass on that dinner invitation...

This link is a little off topic but I was reminded of the Pedsters by reading this link on Chris Benoit. BLUF: People are just F'd up these days and they have lost their common sense.
