So Al golden not going to Penn State. You must be a real piece of [Mark May] coach when your Almater turns you down.

It's not that. They all just know they're not the 1st choice by the school. Here's their list of candidates:

1. Zombie Joe.
2. Slightly zombified Joe
3. Joe
4. Anybody that played for Joe.
5. Anybody that coached under Joe

Here's hoping that Munchak gets the job and does just about the same as he did at Tennessee...

For the record....they don't even have the head football coach's posting out on their website. They DO however, have a listing for ASSISTANT football coach...

Successful candidate will be assisting the Head Coach in the development and maintenance of a competitive program, by championing a clear vision and strategy for a winning program aggressive in the pursuit of Big Ten Conference as well as success on a national level. Responsibilities include: providing direct coaching and instruction, scouting, evaluating and recruiting of student athletes. This candidate should possess established leadership/mentor role among student-athletes and other supportive staff while promoting sportsmanship and responsible behavior both during and outside of athletic competition; serves as a positive, inspirational leader for the football program, athletics department, and University. Candidate should embrace diversity and demonstrate inclusion; maintain commitment to departmental engagement, including collaborative interaction with athletics staff and coaches. The position requires creating establishment and maintenance of effective relationships within the athletics department, the University, community, Nittany Lion Club, booster clubs, alumni, high school coaches, media and the general public. Candidate must engage in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes and is responsible for the program's compliance with University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA regulations. The Intercollegiate Athletic Department is committed to hiring a diverse staff and actively encourages candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree plus four years of work related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of four years successful coaching experience at the Division I-A level, desired. Proven organizational, evaluation, administrative, and communication skills; a demonstrated ability to work well under pressure; and knowledge of NCAA regulations also preferred. This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire with excellent possibility of re-funding.

I don't know if there is any validity to it, but someone over on bwi who claims to be in the know stated unequivocally that Golden has a skeleton in his closet that, if uncovered, would prevent him from EVER becoming the HC at PedSU...... If I get a moment, I'll see if I can find a link.....
