O’Brien struggled with the decision last year and ultimately felt he owed it to his players to stay at Happy Valley for a second season, but relations between him and the school frayed some when the school was subjected to more post-Sandusky sanctions than expected, and he also has had three staff members depart recently. His buyout is less financially restrictive than in past years, and, furthermore, there could be litigation over his buyout as well, if the situation escalates, given the penalties the program faced.

Yep. Why would any coach go there if they are going to be forced the indignity of having neutral conference officials ref their games? Sometimes opposing teams are actually allowed to complete ENTIRE offensive drives without a single holding call. No first rate coach is going to put up with that.

Total disclosure of FACTS and EVIDENTS, B1G officials haven't called holding since 2003.

Here's hoping you're spending the day exactly wherever you truly deserve to be, Joe.

One of the enduring sources of joy in my advancing years has come with the realization that it's not my job to decide that destination for anyone else.
It's amazingly freeing.

That said, it's abnormally warm here in Columbus for December. How's the weather where you are, JP?
