Soooo...the NCAA has now suddenly moved to a "parole" model??? "Yeah, we'll give you 10-25 (schollies), but with good behavior, you can be out in 5 (to keep your coach from bolting)." I wish I could say it was hard to believe...but it isn't. I think the NCAA will disintegrate (read: "reposition") in 5 years or less.

The worst part of it is that this will somehow justify to the cultists that the NCAA has recognized the true FACTS and EVIDENTS, but that the NCAA just don't want to admit it.
I'm guessing the party line over on BWI is that they are only reducing the punishments hoping that it will appease PSU and that this reduction will make their appeal + the Paterno lawsuit go away. That way, nobody will ever discover the nefarious and underhanded treatment that PSU got!

The early read over there is that this changes nothing. Full restoration of the Pedterno wins, reputation, reimbursement of $$$ and admission of the lies in the Freeh report is the only way to resolve all remaining grievances.

fuckers get more than they ever deserve in regards to an unprecedented reduction of sanctions (unprecedented because it's never happened and because this is the one fucking program that deserves a full term) and that isn't enough.

I don't even know what to say at this point.

Those that doubted my thinking the sanctions would get "modified" by political pressure can now see a trend to ease up on Ped State. And the Big Ten is asking the NCAA to modify it's sanctions. No one wants to take a stand, now. The Big Ten rushed to action and should have waited for the trials of the three accused of a cover-up.
