Maybe the onset of diabetes? With the need to keep their feet, socks and shoes dry, a diabetic might wear athletic socks.

On the other hand it may be as weatherman Phil Conners points out, "They're hicks, Rita."

I'm going with the latter

Some of the stuff said over at Hineygate is both absurd and delusional.

There was a thread where someone was claiming only Alabama could compete with OSU. Only Alabama and Indiana.

Seriously though, win something, like a conference championship, BCS game or MNC before stating only Alabama can compete.

They haven't won jack and act like they are in the midst of a dynasty. Absolutely delusional.

Not sure I understand who he's talking shit about here? The moron who said Indiana would compete for a National Title in football, Indiana, or Ohio State. I certainly hope he isn't talking about Ohio State winning a conf. champ, BCS game, or MNC...

I guess having the most BCS appearances, 5 BCS bowl wins, and 34 conference titles means nothing?

I like the fact that he pinned JoePa down using JoePa's own words. Oh, and facts and evidence.

This. His response was perfectly worded.

I'm also glad that he correctly pointed out that the Paterno family 'report' is nothing more than a public relations stunt.

Anyway to get the PED faithful to read the Freeh response? That is how you point-by-point destroy a document.

The holes in the Paterno document are so obvious that it can only be thought of as a blatant PR effort.

The Paterno family is waging a "media war". Gotta think the NCAA is not going to take this lightly. And when the Big 3 go to trial, anything could happen and be exposed. Who will make a deal first to avoid prison time? It will just get uglier and uglier.

"As detailed in my report, the e-mails and contemporary documents from 2001 show that, despite Mr. Paterno's knowledge and McQueary's observations, four of the most powerful officials at Penn State agreed not to report Sandusky's activity to public officials" Freeh.

If the report that was commissioned by the Penn State Board of Trustees and conducted by Freeh, Sporkin, and Sullivan, LLP was of sufficient merit, Mr. Freeh would not feel it necessary to defend the report at this moment.
