Re: What defense would shut down our '94 offense?Reply At the college level? There hasn't been one to date that could.
That's right...in 143 years there hasn't been one defense that could stop their 1994 offense.

Oh, except for the 1969 Penn State defense...

Missouri: 1 FG / 3 Points In 18 Possessions!Reply
That Missouri team was.....ironically.....an offensive powerhouse very similar to PSU's 1994 O......until they met PSU's 1969 D.

1959 Mississippi defense. They gave up 21 points (3 TDs) all season, and one of those was against the special teams (punt return TD), so the defense itself gave up only two TDs and not a single FG in 11 games...that works out to 1.3 ppg against the defense.

2002 Ohio State crushes 94 Ped State's offense.

Hell Alabama's defense from last year stops them in their tracks too, not to mention any one of a number of LSU, Texas and FSU defenses from the 2000s or late 90s in the case of FSU.

And Nebraska's defenses in the mid 90s were no joke either.

i'd put money on our '11 defense against that PSU team without even hesitating.

Those are not outlyers. They represent the typical myopic Ped State fan.
Scary, isn't it?

Van Ness DeCree, Arnie Jones, Pete Cusick, Jim Cope, Randy Gradishar, Vic Koegel, Rick Middleton, Neal Colzie, Steve Luke, Tim Fox & Rick Parsons would have broken Kerry Collins & Co.
Hell yeah.

I think I would too.

What they don't really seem to notice or remember is...who the hell did that 1994 team beat? USC was the only team that finished with less than 4 losses and they were 8-3-1. 4-loss Michigan, 4-loss Ohio State, 4-loss Oregon...
