Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

[pedster]Yes, there is no culture problem in Slappy Valley. It is the rest of the world that has a problem.[/pedster]

Those fans have such an inferiority complex. Where did they get this mentality? Oh yeah, it was that stumpy little mafiaso guy from NY who told everyone in ear shot how great he was, and how unfair everyone is to him and his team, who only creally cared about his own legacy is who gave them that attitude.

They are because he was, remember? Yes. So fucking true.

At this point, I'm all in favor Billy O' Buttchin winning BiG 10 COTY honors. Not like we're not used to our coaches getting snubbed for lesser-deserving guys (how many times did Tress win it?) I'd much rather have BiG10 championships........

Hell, I hope he wins it again next season. If he does, you can count on some NFL owner with more money than sense (Snyder..... Jones...... etc) who'll throw a pile of cash at him thinking he's the second coming of Lombardi. THAT is the BWI meltdown that I cannot wait for.......

Relegate PedState to the stepping-stone status that it deserves.

It would have been epic if he left them this year. They had a whole season of "If BOB leaves, can anybody really blame him? The refs cheat us and he won't want to put up with that. I'll cheer him if he goes". They would have turned on him in half a second if he ditched them for an NFL job.

It would have been glorious.

There is still time, NFL season is not over yet.

If he was smart O'Bumfuck would be sending out as many rumors as he could about NFL jobs and force Ped State to give him the huge 10 year Weis contract. That way when he gets no talent over the next few years and they fire him for 4-8 seasons he'll still be set for life.

I don't think he's going, unfortunately. Whether it's because no NFL teams are willing to bite yet, he wants to see how the sanctions effect the program next year or simply a case of arrogant football coach thinks he can beat the sanctions, I don't know.

I think we're a year away from O'Bannion hitting the eject button. If UFM gets our defensive inconsistencies straightened out and BM is having the Heisman campaign that we're all hoping for, I could see an even more depleted ped aggy team coming into Ohio Stadium and getting plungered for a solid 60 minutes. As for the rest of the Big Ten, they can't possibly as bad as they were this year. We'll see how committed O'Bannion is after that.

I will answer it one more time - doesn't matter.

Except that you saying it isn't supported by results so far. The 2012 class was significantly worse than the norm and the high talent '13 players actively avoided them since the sanctions were announced.

Sort Michigan's class by commitment date, and you'll see a bunch of early commitments , too. Penn State lost a few kids right after the sanctions were announced, which was to be expected; same thing happened with Ohio State in 2011.
In the back half of the class TSUN has added more 4* level kids (Henry Poggi, Maurice Hurst, Ross Douglas) and are still high on the radar for highly sought after players while PSU has battled MAC & Sun Belt teams for kids that no major program is looking at (Jordan Smith, Kasey Gaines,Tanner Hartman).

Can you name one 4-5* level talent who currently has PSU high on their list?

The two just don't equate.

Penn State should rebound fairly well for the class of 2014, and even as damaged goods, they will out-recruit at least one-half of the Big Ten, maybe two-thirds.
Perhaps but the way things are trending argues otherwise.

PSU plays in the Big Ten, so the comparison is completely meaningful.
OK now you just need to stop stealing Taos' stash.

More PSU sex abuse uncovered: http://mobile.pennlive.com/advpenn/db_96886/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=9OiMEJ0y

One interesting off-shoot of Penn State's renewed emphasis on "mandated reporter" training for cases of suspected child abuse is the logging of several additional historical cases of potential sexual abuse.

University Police Chief Tyrone Parham is cited in an independent monitor's report as saying his department has received about six new reports since November 2011, "most of which concerned historical incidents of child abuse revealed to counselors or staffers at the university's summer camps."
Parham, who could not be reached for comment this afternoon, went on to say that those incidents have been referred to authorities in the counties where the alleged abuse occurred.

It was not clear if any of the cases involved Jerry Sandusky, the former assistant football coach who's arrest last year for the serial molestation of boys involved in the Second Mile charity programs has led to the current Penn State reforms, or others.

Sandusky's trial this year centered on allegations involving 10 boys, but the university has already conceded that it is engaged in civil settlement talks with as many as 25 individuals.

cont'd...

PSU had better hope this was Sandusky.

More like they better hope it can't be connected with Sandusky. You think things are bad now, see what happens if an actual PSU pedophile ring is uncovered.

There was some circumstantial evidence that other pedophiles may have participated with Sandusky. Considering how long and how many victims Sandusky had, it is entirely possible he did not act alone. There was an "incident" on a private plane which may or may not have been a booster. The FBI was investigating all leads and we have not heard word one from them.
Yet.
