Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

i was close. apparently, this is the governor's doing because the election is next week. never mind that he's not up for election this year. but, given the cult's FACTS and EVIDENTS, this would clearly be political suicide. i'm thinking franco harris should run for governor in 2014 and cardboard paterno should be his running mate.
Nah, he'll have to flip that ticket if he wants to win. Cardboard cutout for Governor with Franco as his running mate.

I live in the DC suburbs and no one that isn't a Penn State alum gives a [Mark May] about them. Well, except for Royster's high school but they're bunch of dumb [Mark May]s anyway.

In fact, DC Metro area cares more about Ohio State

Here comes the real hit!

Of course the mutants are blaming the President and Board and not the horrible stigma that JoePed and company left the university with.

I would guess too that both the number and quality of out of state applicants has nosedived, which will play havoc with budget numbers since ped aggy is the most expensive public university in the country.

The main campus is actually pretty difficult to get into for an out of state senior in HS with strong test scores and grades. It will be interesting to see if they change that.

Just had a conversation with a client of mine and we got to discussing the Penn State situation since the GS news came out today. He is a UF grad, but a total college footbal nut. He had a great view about how the sanctions are perfect whether or not any NCAA rules were actually broken.

When parents want to punish their children, some resort to "grounding" the child. This means that the child is not allowed to do what they like to do, no matter what that is, so that they understand that actions have consequences. This punishment doesn't have to actually relate to the indiscretion, but only has to reinforce the fact that whatever they did was not permissible in the parents eyes.

So, even though specific NCAA rules may not have been broken ( and that is up for debate, but not the purpose of this post), Penn State still needed a punishment that would hurt them enough to know that what went on was wrong. Penn State LOVES/IDOLIZES/WORSHIPS the football program, so the most effective punishment that would do any good would be to affect the football program, hence what the NCAA did.

Let those fucking inbred enabling bastards whine and cry all they want about "Its not a football issue" because whather it is or isn't, the punishment most definitely got their attention, which is what was supposed to happen.

Anyway, thought I would share.

I was visiting with a PSU customer of mine who has lived in Ohio for 14 years. He also roots for OSU except against PSU. He told me that OSU fans, including his close friends, openly admit that OSU and Michigan get all the calls. AND they laugh about it, too. He said they predicted that OSU would miraculously come back and beat Purdue and that OSU would be helped out by the refs. They admit and expect it!!!!
Somehow I missed this. Maybe it's just because my day has been crazy or perhaps this is the straw on the proverbial camels back...but this is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. I feel like this is a 12 year old trying way too hard to impress the cool kids.

I guess that freak auraballs or whatever got banned from BWI? I don't see his tin-foil Gatoresque walls of text on there lately.

Not complaining, but I thought he was their defacto champion in all of this?

They have lower admissions stats than we do right now, and lower than Pitt also. What they do have is a lower acceptance rate, and that's because for years they've been gaming the US News rankings by encouraging Pennsylvania kids with little or no chance to get into University Park to apply anyways. Penn State marks them down as a rejected applicant and shuttles them off to a branch campus, so they tell USN&WR that they have something like 35K applicants and only accepted 40%.

If total apps to the main campus are down 28% and apps to the Honors College are down 39%, it's clearly the top of the applicant pool and probably heavily weighted to out of state applicants that is bailing on the place. If they want the same revenue from tuition, they're going to have to take in a lot of much less qualified oos applicants for the next few years, and these things have a way of spiraling downward/upward with increasing momentum.

I wonder if enough of the cult hit the donate button on his website so that he could get that piece of bottom land that he's always dreamed of.

Ped State leaves and BTN will fail, FACTS!

Really? You don't think the ACC could create their own Network?Reply sure they could and if they added PSU it would most definitely become a reality, and if PSU were to leave The Big Ten (still wondering how the intelligent University Presidents failed Math 101 in college) it would spell the demise of BTN - and FAST. They would lose ALL of their east coast markets - ALL. PSU delivers PA, MD, DC, NJ, NY, VA. If PSU were to join The ACC very few people in PA, MD, DC, NJ, NY, VA would give two [Mark May]s about BTN. And with ND and PSU The ACC would have ND, PSU, FSU, and Miami. Yes Miami has been down and will most likely see sanctions of some sort, but they will be back, and you'll see the likes of Pitt, SU, Clemson, and GaTech start to rise as their recruits will want to play against the 'Big Four'. I would say within 5 years The ACC would rival The Big Ten as a football conference and their basketball is far better than The Big Ten (and being in The ACC will reap huge rewards for our basketball teams).

FACTS AND EVIDENTS!!!!

Not the ones the pedster faithful were hoping for, though.

Reading this now. This part is so humorous, I had to share.

So Shultz, has his 'Jerry File'. Why he kept this, I don't know - maybe he thought these would somehow protect him from getting thrown under the bus? - but that's beside the point.

He want's to keep these secret. If word gets out it is very very bad news for him and for the University. What does he do? Lock them up? Take them off campus and keep them filed at his house? File them under some made up inconspicuous sounding project name (Project 48A-67 invoices - 1995)?

No he puts them in a folder named 'Sandusky' and tells his secretary "You see that folder with the name of one of the most prominent men in Happy Valley, who there may or may not be rumors flying around about being 'not right' and 'creepy'? NEVER look in that file. Never ever."

Anyone else thought about the cheapskate mobster in Casino who keeps records because he's tired of not getting reimbursed from the big bosses?

Of course Pres. Spanier going to trial just proves even more Joe was not guilty! They really do exist in a bizarro universe! :shake:
And they are still tiptoeing around the guilt of Paterno question. "He's deceased."
I would love to see Spanier and the other two asked about Paterno's involvement in the coverup. But I suspect that won't come up some how.
