Yeah, no culture problem in Slappy Valley when the alumni care more about a dead football coach and his so-called legacy than the actual future of the University.

Is it any wonder the students are distancing themselves from the old guard? I would be pissed if I were a student at PSU right now that the cultist alumni are dragging the University through the mud in the court of public opinion.

I hope all of those alumni are proud of themselves for taking down the University that they all claim to love for the sake of an arrogant ass from Brooklyn and his so-called "Grand Facade.....um.....Experiment."

Nice tarp.

Looks like somebody out there is willing to have their 1990 Camaro rained on to defend Joe Paterno's honor. What a selfless act.

Probably a cover for a Jeep that was sacrificed for the Gland Experiment.

Billboards going up this week around State College...Reply...this from PS4RS - paid for by a [censored]ed off alum

Note that this is NOT sanctioned, or organized, or paid for by PS4RS. Their FB site is simply where it was posted. This is being done by one individual with his/her own money.

Good fucking Lord. You know the saddest part of this whole thing to me is that Franco Harris, dunce that he has become, is like a complete exception to every rule. Here's what I mean. The football players were around Joe a lot, so one could see that it would be hard for them to acknowledge/admit/come to grips with all the things that are coming out. Yet most of the players have been victim-first and very measured in their responses. Yes, Millen stopped short of villifying Joe, but at least he left open the POSSIBILITY of him having known and not acted and/or not done enough. On the flip side, I would bet that 95%...or more...of the people on BWI and the people posting these billboards and the ones commenting on that Onward State story and whatever have interacted with Joe for a grand total of 60 seconds or less in their lifetimes. Yes they are the ones who will cling to the deck of the Titanic and claim it is the world's most unsinkable ship, all the way up until they drown. Why? It can't be Joe himself, they don't even know him and they have likely either never met him or have only done so in passing. It's got to be the fact that they can't admit they were duped, or that they sunk all of their hopes and dreams into a brand, into an IDEAL (not even the man) that turns out to be patently false. THEY couldn't be wrong, and no amount of FACTS or EVIDENTS or EGGZAMPLES will be able to change their mind one iota. All for a person they don't even know and have no way of knowing deserves or doesn't deserve their unwavering faith. How sad.

I would say that they wrapped their whole identity as a university and a fanbase (and in more than a few instances their entire self-worth) in his myth. They were better than all the rest of us because he was better than all the rest of college football. They were special and unique because of Him. WE ARE....BECAUSE YOU WERE.

To now have to admit that it was all a fraud is a huge divide to cross psychologically for these people, and most of them will never--to their dying day--accept or reconcile the truth that came out about Paterno. I wasn't kidding when I posted that there won't be a real change of culture there until there is at least a 20 year die-off of cultists.....and provided that the university can change the on campus environment there so it stops being a factory for pumping out future generations of cultists.
