Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

I thought Navy would give them a run, but that putrid offensive performance vs. ND has made me rethink my position. Temple lost a lot from last year's team, and they don't have the passing attack to exploit PSU's defensive weakness, so there's another possibility for a win. They can beat IU, too, but that game is far enough off that PSU may have thrown in the towel at that point. I see no one else on their schedule that they can beat without it being a considerable upset.

Still, three wins should do wonders for their program - especially since that may represent the high point for the next few years.

I know what you are saying about Navy, but PSU is about 2 more injuries away from fielding an NAIA team.

It's not that bad. Unless those two injuries are McMoxie and whomever their nameless best defensive player is.

Ohio is a *good* MAC team. Its not like they lost to Akron. The over/under on wins (at 5.5) looks like they're going to come in under that, but they aren't quite at the FCS level yet. Save that talk for the next 5 years.

Unless of course the over/under number is for the cummulative number of wins over the next five years.

PSU is scraping the bottom at running back. Their WRs are thoroughly mediocre. They're using the TEs a lot because they're decent and it's an easy completion for McMoxie. Do they have a pass rush?

vBet on how many under 90K in attendence next home game?

next home game is after UVA and Navy. if they're 0-3 at that point, i'll need to see a plastic surgeon to see if he can do something about the constant smile on my face.

I keep thinking about how Buckeye fans reacted to Woody getting fired. He hit a player, who taunted him, in the helmet. Baumann was laughing at him after the punch. But it was wrong and people accepted it. He had shown his temper before, ripping up yard markers and the like, but that ineffectual punch was the end of his career. And no one loved any coach more than Buckeye fans loved Woody.

Compare that to the way these folks openly deny the horrors that JoePa ignored. How incedibly sad. How incredibly shameful. As my kids say, PSU fans, get a life!

This may be the most insightful post in this thread.

If they start the season 0-3, I don't think they would be able to win another game the rest of the season. Navy is not that good this year.

Given the insanity of the Penn State fanbase, they may do something so idiotic that there wouldn't be a rest of the season. Get O'Brien fired and put Bradley back in (thereby getting the NCAA to finally shutter the program or the like).

Every day, their fans do something impossibly stupid. Nothing is past them. Nothing. 0-3 would probably cause a mass wave of suicides or similar.

"Penn State University isn?t going to ?heal? based on anything that happens on a football field, and it?s certainly not going to get back its good name or reputation any time soon if the last eight months are any indication of how the school and community are going to continue to act."
"
"So, Penn State football, go ahead and go through the motions. See how much money you can make off of your customers who want the experience of saying the words we are or Penn State in front of other people. Now that the novelty has worn off following the loss to Ohio, I?ll be sure to remind everyone else to check back in 2017. "

You are ? Penn State. ? Dignity. It has been sorely lacking throughout the entire process, but there?s still time.

This is a great idea. If you have a dog (Emmert) that s*** on your floor. You can not just move on... What do you do? You rub the dog's (Emmert's) nose in it to teach them a lesson. Emmert has s*** on OUR floor. Now I don't advocate for throwing feces at him (although I would not be too broken up if someone did), so the only way to rub his and the s****y BOT's noses in what they have done, and force them to reflect on how MORALLY BANKRUPT they are, is to continue to honor Joe in a dignified way. A peaceful protest in the tradition of Ghandi and Martin Luther King.
