I would think that because it wasn't a "legal" investigation, that there could be some room for a Supreme Court appeal? Just a guess.

Since NCAA sanctions have nothing to do with the legal system, some lawyer would have to dream up a reason to take it there. I'm sure it would start at a much lower level somewhere.

What a pity. An appeal would only prolong the inevtiable, allowing BOB & PSU to twist in the wind that much longer. Here's to hoping some creative lawyer suceeds in getting a legal injunction to delay implementation of the sanctions.
Let's not be abbreviating Blob O'Blipblop's name. Seems disrespectful.

I about spit what I was drinking out when I read this on a Disney fan forum, and knew you all would appreciate this.

In today's social media era, all it takes is one Twit to tweet and the world picks it up and runs with it like it's a football and Jerry Sandusky is coming up from the rear (too soon?)

So if somehow, an appeal is granted, does that mean that the NCAA could hammer them again with new findings??

I believe Emmert said in his presser that they reserved the right to swing the hammer again if new infractions emerge.

I still say it's better than 50/50 one of the victims drags this into a courtroom. I say it's damn near 99.99% chance that FACTS entered into evidence from said trial will not paint St Joe or anyone associated with PSU in a more flattering light than the Freeh report.

So, all said I see a very good chance just one civil suit goes to court and as a result they lose the last gasp FACTS fantasy while at the same time receive additional NCAA ass pounding as the coup de grace(or dick wipe off on the curtains...whichever).

The ref who completely missed(?) the call on Nebraska in 1982 was the father of a player on the team. Seriously, I'm not making this [Mark May] up. JoePed had his own personal ref crews when ped aggy was an independent.

JoePed only joined the Big Ten because his dream of an Eastern League was turned down by Pitt, Syracuse and the others. One of the main issues is that JoePed would have kept his personal officiating crews. He also would have controlled the league office, scheduling and instituted an uneven split for football revenue but an even split for basketball revenue. Gee, I wonder why the other schools didn't want to take their place on Massah Joe's plantation. Penn State is a lot like China. The people closest to them and who know them the best absolutely loathe them. That's telling.

Say what you will about Beano Cook, but he absolutely nailed it when he said that JoePed would struggle in the Big Ten when he was forced to deal with independent referees. Then look at the 19 years where he was constantly screaming at officials on the sideline, whining about them in post game press conferences and inferring that they were looking out for the other team. They weren't. They were just trying to be objective, and making mistakes as refs are prone to do. But after nearly 30 years of having the refs in your pocket, he couldn't realize that.

You make Penn State sound an awful lot like Texas and the PAC 12.
