RE: Could it be Les Miles?

So Penn St is ahead of LSU because the Tigers weren't as dominant as they are now 20 years ago? And Penn St is more prestigious because they were good in 70's and 80's, but have been mildly average for 15 years?

Somebody's been beer bonging kool-aid.

RE: Could it be Les Miles?

LSU doesn't amount to a pimple on Penn State's *** in terms of alumni, academics, and athletics

Wow. :slappy:

Just where, exactly, does Ped Aggy trump in LSU in athletics?

...and I love when message board fans drag alumni/academics into the equation...as if Coaches give two [Mark May]s about that. I responded with essentially what I posted here (just less inflammatory):

Can't wait to see dumb dumb's response.

Joyner's a genius; Miles to PSU; Gunner Kiel to PSU QB

Miles is coming to PSU. It is the only thing that makes sense.

Because of the upcoming MNC game, Miles did not want his team distracted by the "are you leaving" questions so he made Joyner promise to go overboard, much of it at the expense of his personal credibility (temporarily), to put out as many smoke screens as possible to deflect attention from the Miles hire. That smokescreen included leading all to believe an announcement would be made this week. That got everyone focused on other college coaches and pro coaches who were wrapping up their business this week. Undoubtedly Joyner mentioned to all other coaches interviewed or contacted (Richt, Franklin; Golden, Petersen etc.) the benefits they may accrue by keeping the fact that they were not PSU's #1 choice a secret and how they would likely get a bump in salary if they let their name continue to float in the media - and it worked over and over again.

Now that all the other bowls are over (and Muchak is available) and when attention would otherwise focus squarely on Miles and Saban if no announcement was made this week,(and which it can't be for the reasons stated above) we see a plethora of NFL offensive coordinators names swirl in the rumor mill to continue the decepion so Miles can keep his team focuced on their big game. Once the MNC game is over, Miles will be announces as PSU's head coach in time for the 13 Jan Recruiting Weekend. Joyner is a genius.

And, whne Miles hosts recruits on 13 Jan, do not be surprised at all to see one young Gunner Kiel visiting along with Cam Williams, Amani Reeves, and the rest of the big timers. If Miles could get Kiel to LSU, I'd be stunned if he couldn't get the midwesterner to take a look at Penn State given the open depth chart in front of him. I would not be surpirsed to see Noah Spence take another look at Penn State when the dust settles either.

Unless Joyner wants his head ripped of by Lavar and his friends, this is the only remaining scenario that makes sense.

I look forward to seeing Genner and PJ compete for the starting QB slot in 2012.

RE: Joyner's a genius; Miles to PSU; Gunner Kiel to PSU QB

We're finally making some sense around here!

No matter how much money he makes there and no matter how much "talent" may be there, in order to coach at LSU he still has to live in LOUISIANA!?!?!?! And all those recruits he is visiting live is some of the worst areas of LOUISIANA!?!?!?! We are comparing apples and oranges here. If you've been to Louisiana (outside of New Orleans), it shouldn't be that hard to understand why someone may want to leave for a "new challenge."

Yeah, Baton Rouge is so much worse than some little hick town in the middle-of-nowhere, PA. Wow.

They need to give these nutcases their own island out in the Pacific somewhere. This kind of lunacy leads to manifestos and sprees.

Pittsburgh radio station KDKA reports that interim PSU coach TBradley being offered an assistant's position by new PItt coach PChryst.
Their backup plan gets a backup plan of his own.

C'mon down Jay Paterno! May the dynasty continue - HD Offense all the way!!

Joyner is a genius.

All things are relative...

Re: Signs point to Schiano as next head coach: Ben Jones
There is absolutely ZERO chance, he's leaving Rutgers! I repeat! ZERO! He's got it made there! Rutgers can go 6-6, for the next 5 years and I'm telling you, his job would be safe! He wouldn't risk his coaching future anywhere else, where they would demand (and rightfully so) better! They accept mediocrity there! Sad, but definitely true!

As opposed, I guess, to what they accept at PedState.

Please.. Pennsylvania blows Louisiana absolutely away in terms of high school football talent and it's not even close.

Nevermind that Penn State also has a death grip on all of New England and Delmarva.

What outsiders fail to understand is that we've been fighting with one hand tied behind our backs for more than a decade and still wrapped up a couple Big Ten titles.
We are a sleeping giant.
I don't know which part is funnier

The Truck Drivers are just as bad. They refuse to even acknowledge that Peterson is getting this out of the blue (he already received an extension last year) extension and raise complete with an emergency meeting of their board to approve it right after it was announced that Ped Aggy was making another run at him. They refuse to believe that maybe Peterson just might have been listening to a $4M offer from the Pedsters.

Personally, I think Peterson's a coward. He's gamed the system up in Boise and doesn't have the guts to take his game to the next level, but it sure as shit looks like he's played the Ped State offer into another raise.
