They've actually convinced themselves that not only will they pull out of the agreement, the ncaa will be powerless to sanction them or kick them out. If they do, ped aggy will have an airtight lawsuit for $60MM/year (football revenue.

I think they should go all out. I think this requires a completely stupid and futile gesture be done on somebody's part.

....and they're just the ones to do it....

I was in the Army with a guy who's master life plan was to be elected governor of the state of Texas when he got out.

His reasoning was that a little known codicil of the Texas state constitution allowed them to legally secede from the union and would therefore allow him to become the defacto dictator of his own country.

This is the first thing in the 20 or so years since I got out that has made me think there might be someone alive more fucked in the head than that guy was.

I love how they keep throwing around jurisdiction when talking about the NCAA and the sanctions. They fail to realize that their membership is voluntary, therefore they gave the NCAA the authority to do this to them if the NCAA felt a situation warranted the action.

How can they be so obtuse?

I didn't say she's an eye sore... but.. cripes... she's average at best.

And... as George Bluth famously observed, don't [censored] crazy.

The fact that she's at PSU has consequences on the "crazy" score.

Survey says: Leave this one alone.

It appears that she is in a sorority. That is bonus points in my mind. I'd tap it for a ONS.

Today on College Football Live:

Rece Davis - "Bill, what provisions are in your contract, that potentially would even allow you to leave, now that these sanctions have kicked in?"

BoB - "I have a 5 year contract, I also have an addendum to that contract, that if there were sanctions there would be years added on to my contract; but I've committed to Penn State. The details of my contract are really between my wife and I, and the powers-that-be at Penn State, Dr. Erickson and Dr. Joyner. But I have a 5-year contract that I've told Penn State that I'm going to commit to."

My comment - Somebody needs to submit a FOIA request ASAP to PSU, asking for the full contract to be published. If Penn State doesn't want to make public the contract of the person that's probably their highest-paid employee - things aren't changing enough in Nittany land. And if they don't want to release his contract, they should be lambasted for that.

Obviously I wasn't being 100% serious. However, remember the NCAA could only rule off of the coverup, not what they were doing. So the magnitude of the acts being covered up would not have mattered. Just the fact that they were doing it.
I wasn't being 100% serious, either. I just wanted to show that what Penn State did was several orders of magnitude worse than what Ohio State did, yet their penalties were the same in kind (bowl ban, scholarship reductions, vacated wins) and roughly four times worse in degree (one-year ban versus four-year ban; 9 scholarships lost versus forty scholarships lost). If the NCAA had used Ohio State and Southern Cal as the bench marks, then Penn State would have received much, much worse penalties than they actually did, and their program would have been for all intents and purposes been sent packing to the FCS.

97.1 reporting the BOT at Pedd State is going to try and find a way to fight the NCAA penalties and disagree with the president accepting said sanctions.

G-d I [censored]ing hope they do.

I can't wait for the judge/ whoever makes the ruling slaps them down so hard. I love how this has turned into a complete civil war at Ped State. Now that the BOT and administration are going after each other, this will set them bac another 5 years.

That was a false statement. BOT has already said that Erickson did the right thing for the university. They don't want the probe to go any deeper or else they will get LOIC and no football for at least 4 years.
