Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Here's a good question for the pedsters. Did any of JoePed's donations go to fund students or pay faculty? We know that he gave $4MM lifetime to ped aggy, which I believe is a pretty bull[Mark May] sum. Didn't JT and his wife give $5MM to the Thompson Library renovation?

My point is that it all went to things that would glorify JOE. Did he set up any scholarship funds? Did he endow any faculty chairs? One of the greatest things about Wayne Woodrow Hayes is that he specifically gave Ann instructions that after he was gone he wanted his friends and former players to donate and endow a fund in the history department. Originally it was supposed to be a scholarship fund, but the wave of support was so high that they raised enough to fully endow a faculty chair.

Just a couple of martini fueled musings on a Saturday night.

I have no idea about the rest of your inquiries. I do think however that the 1MM difference is mainly because coloring books aren't that expensive.

The line of cultists is over 500 long. Grown men are hugging it and crying. They're taking their kids to see it one last time; never mind that flesh and blood Joe would have let those children get [censored]ed in the ass before allowing his legacy and image to be tarnished one slight bit.

The Big Ten Presidents need to let this [Mark May] soak in and then try and tell themselves that institution and that culture is capable of reforming itself in the absence of the most drastic outside intervention.
do they turn it the other way when the kids approach it?

one of my favorite things the idiots say is "Joe didn't even like the statue." yeah fucking right. that bastard probably commissioned it and posed for it. I'd say he paid for it, too....but I seriously doubt he was willing to do that.

one more thing...louis freeh was paid to put the blame on paterno. I read the freeh report...not just the summary and i see no sign of paterno doing anything to cover it up. if he tried to cover it up....how were so many people in the know? Plenty of blame to go around other than paterno. Freeh was paid millions to say..."BLAME PATERNO."

Anyone with the ability to read and comprehend reading....could see that. read the dang freeh report. it was pretty lame in my opinion.

screw the NCAA....go ahead and print this off and mail it to the NCAA. i don't care. What authority do they really have? They are a joke...a bunch of hypocrites?
I am to the point now....screw it...sanction us....I refuse to just be the doormat. Screw that. Regardless....Rutgers is still a joke..in a joke, dieing Big East.

I am not saying sorry....the people who did wrong are being punished....jail and soon to be jail. Punishing PSU football is just a ridiculous idea.

Cultist poster is culty. :tinfoil:

New Guy's Thoughts On The Paterno Lynch Mob

I've seen this "lynch mob" characterization several times now. Yet another sign of how out-of-touch that community is with what real antagonism, terror and victimization looks like. Lynch mobs and child abuse are serious fucking business. Statues and college football are trivialities.

I just want to give a rundown of BWI's thoughts on who's guilty/innocent.

Guilty:
Sandusky (but there are some debates about just how guilty he really is)
Mark McQueary (teh ginger devil11!!!!11)
The Janitors (cowards!)
Curly
Shultz
Spanier
2nd Mile
All of the former Board of Trustee Members (trying to pin this on a poor dead guy!)
Louis Freeh - paid by BOT to forge a biased report
Tom Corbett - paid off by the 2nd mile and BOT members
The Media - for buying into Freeh's report
The Big 10 - bastards started all of this by removing Paterno's name from the trophy.
Eickson, current President of the University: For having the audacity to consider removing JoePed's statue.
Everyone else outside of Ped State that believes Paterno did something wrong.

Innocent:
St. Joe Paterno, who's only flaw in life was his eyesight. (I'd at least add bowel control to that list too, but they'd disagree).

Re: The beginning of the end, Joe's statue being removed

What can you say, clarity of decision making still rules at PSU. The statement that kills me is Erickaon trying to tie in the statute to a reminder to the vctims?.? Huh, Joe's picture or statue is a painful reminder of their abuse???? Boy is that a reach......Joe is a reminder of THEIR abuse......we are talking the abuse that JS did correct......man I hate to think what the pics of JS, MM and the hatred of their parents for putting them into the Secomd Mile Program do as a reminder.......
You mean the Second Mile program that used behind the scenes access to Penn State football as a recruiting mechanism? Yes, clearly the parents are the monsters here.

Now we are going to be the "leaders" of the fight against child abuse. Now how do we do that? MONEY, this will be about money.......the BOT blew this whole deal big time.
The BOT failed to cash in on the worst scandal not just in college football history, but in higher education period? What a bunch of incompetent boobs.

Re: The beginning of the end, Joe's statue being removed

Gee guys I have to admit I was so wrong ! Looks like it's fair skies and calm seas from here on out....................

Andrew Brandt‏ @ adbrandt Interesting that Paterno statue is coming down, but issue is changing a culture, not moving a sculpture.

NOW DO YOU GET ?!! THIS HAS DONE NOTHING !!! IT TELLS THE MOB TO KEEP GOING AND YOU CAN GET WHATEVER YOU WANT !

The lack of self awareness is astounding. They are not talking about changing the culture of the rest of the country, they are talking about changing to cult culture in Happy Valley you mongoloid.

How in the hell could that possibly fly over their heads? (cue NFBuck).

I would say that guy is clearly a troll, but look at his post #.

Cults, man. :shake:

On second reading, I suppose he could have realized that they were talking about changing the cult culture in Happy Family. In that case, it is equally disturbing that they would be so protective of it.

But, I'm pretty sure that is all part of the definition of a cult, so either way it works.

(CBS News) CBS News has learned that the NCAA will announce what a high-ranking association source called "unprecedented" penalties against both the Penn State University football team and the school.

"I've never seen anything like it," the source told correspondent Armen Keteyian.

NCAA President Mark Emmert will make the announcement Monday morning at 9 a.m. at the organization's headquarters in Indianapolis.

The penalties come in the wake of the independent report by former FBI Director Louis Freeh that chronicled repeated efforts by four top Penn State officials, including former football Joe Paterno, to conceal allegations of serial child sex abuse Jerry Sandusky over a 14-year period.

The NCAA had been awaiting the school's response to four key questions pertaining to the sex abuse scandal, including issues involving institutional control and ethics.
