Another "shut it down now" article:

Penn State Urged to Shut Football Before NCAA Sandusky Penalties
Eben Novy-Williams and Curtis Eichelberger

Pennsylvania State University is being urged by legal experts and educators to shut its football program after an investigation found officials covered up a child sex-abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach.

National Collegiate Athletic Association President Mark Emmert said this week that he hadn?t ruled out any punishment for the football program, including the so-called death penalty, a temporary ban from competition.

The State College, Pennsylvania-based school should levy the punishment upon itself or the NCAA should enforce its most stringent discipline, said Geoffrey Rapp, a sports law professor at the University of Toledo.

There's a statue I'm longing to see
I hope that he
turns out to be
A coach to watch over me

I'm a little lamb who's blind in both eyes
still I accept all his lies
The coach who'll watch over me

I know he helped a child molester
I'm still his court jester
To my heart he carries the key

Won't you tell him please to come back to life
Clear his good name,
end all this strife
A coach to watch over me
A coach to watch over me

Re: I say we put up ANOTHER statue of JoePa!Reply
Best quote I have seen on the statue controvery in today cnnsi.com article by Andy Staples:

*As for the statue, it's a statue. It doesn't matter. It's up to the people at Penn State to decide what they want the world to know they cherish. If they want the world to know they cherish a man who enabled a child rapist, by all means, leave the statue standing. If they would prefer the world didn't believe they support the enabling of child rape, they should remove the statue. It's pretty simple, really.
