Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

It's the "everyone else was doing it, we aren't that bad" defense mechanism
That is 1,000,000% what they think.

And I get it.. a little bit. I mean, in 2011, I'm sure I said, "Everyone else is letting their players get away with improper benefits. Why is Ohio State the only ones getting caught?"
But then I take a step back and think about whether I really should be comparing a college athlete selling his own personal property with covering for a child predator so that the football program isn't cast in a bad light.

That is a tough one. Not gonna lie.

These guys are funny. Three of the top 8 threads on BWI right now are about sex abuse scandals in other places. There's Michigan, Chicago Blackhawks, and LSU.
I guess if there are more sex abuse scandals, it diminishes the one they had...?

This is like Richard Ramirez standing up in court and saying, "Hey your honor, I'm not nearly as profecient a serial killer as Ted Bundy. Maybe you could go easy on me...."

I was going to make the analogy of, "Yeah, you caught me going 80mph in a 55mph zone, but everyone else is going that fast, too." I'd try that excuse, too.
But it's really more like, "Yeah, you caught me going 80mpg in a 55mph zone. I'm going to go out, buy a radar gun, camp out here, and make it a full-time job to record and report anyone else going at least 56mph in this area." The first one is trying to get yourself out of a speeding ticket. The second has crossed into Crazy-Town.
Also, I'd suppose that in many cases, they'd be arguing that the speed limit should be 80mph, anyway.

ChiTownLion has been working pretty hard to report the latest about some doctor at Ohio State who's been dead for a bunch of time.
What if these posters focused their time and energy to do good? At least make a Youtube video where you make fun of women in bikinis being stupid, or something.

If they're actually worried about child abuse, seems like there's plenty to do to help children being abused right now, as opposed to being focused on a bunch of people who have been dead for decades.

I wonder what these guys are saying about Bill Cosby being released.

You don't have much experience over there, do you?

"Bill Cosby was released! The Big Ten hates us!"
"The referees are corrupt. Non-Big Ten referees would have kept him in prison forever."
"Joe invented instant replay."
"O$U fans are the worst."
"Our 1994 team would have executed Bill Cosby. In fact, they almost did execute him, because Joe knew everything and knew that Bill Cosby was raping women. Or he had already raped women. Or he would rape women soon. But Joe didn't know what rape was. Also, he didn't want to ruin a weekend so he let Bill Cosby off with a warning."
"Let's get out of this corrupt conference. If only Joe had gotten his Elite Eastern Conference of Superiority and Honorable Honor. In what year would a conference made up of Penn State, Pitt, Temple, and 5 more awesome teams like that NOT win the national championship?"
"Aw shit, I spilled my Iron City beer when I was pointing my loaded shotgun at the TV for not showing Joe more on its replays of old Penn State games. That brings up a good point: why is this stuff so cheap and why doesn't Joe have his own channel? I'll tell you why not - they might demand that he get paid a fair amount of money and Joe didn't need no money."

Something like that.

Nadler and Sandusky got the punishment they deserved. Strauss did not, nor did Michigan's Anderson. Thanks to death, society didn't get the justice of seeing both appropriately punished. In all four cases, it appears that the schools are guilty of fighting to keep the story suppressed and protecting personnel who should have been found guilty of failure to report and act on what they knew.

If I understand the Tattoo case, it wasn't so much what the players did as it was about the fact that Tressell tried to protect the players by lying to the school and to the NCAA. And I can understand why. He was looking at a team minus its best running back, best receiver, and QB. He had to also be looking at the bench and seeing an untried freshman, Braxton Miller, and Joe "Shot Pattern" Bauserman.
