Hmmm... I thought that we all understood a couple of "truths" about living here in Chicago:

1) They mayor's office is filled with criminals
2) The police are the enforcement for the Irish Mafia
3) The second and third generations of the Italian Mafia have all migrated to Itasca and Bloomingdale and, despite all owning snow plowing businesses, drive six-figure Italian sports cars.

Did I miss anything?

I'd quibble with #2. There is no Irish mafia after Capone. The police became the actual Irish gang in town and formed an alliance of convenience with Accardo and Ricca.

On a more upbeat aspect of life in Chicago, we have this.

Great thread over on BWI. The Arizona State University president said in an interview he would have also fired Joesus. Naturally, BWI is a bit disgruntled about how anyone can be so uninformed and lacking in FAX. Just some of the highlights: According to BWI, the guy is an "asshole," a "POS," a "clueless sheep." "dumb," "stupid," "fat clown."

And that is just the first half page of BWI responses.

Oh no doubt. And though Scott Paterno isn’t associated in any way with the wrestling program, I can see where he would be drawn to a sport involving men grabbing other men. Does he watch with his back turned? THAT’S the question. Do wrestling matches count if they are held on the weekend? Did they beat Nebraska? The teams Penn State beat, did they really lose (or whatever you want to call it?)
