08 Iowa was worse between quality of opponent and what it ultimately cost the team. No big ten championship game or playoff. Would have put us directly into the bcs championship game. Team would have matched up better with Florida or Oklahoma than usc.

Iowa ‘08 was ours until the absolutely awful interception by Clark gave Iowa one last chance. A totally bogus PI call helped Iowa down the field.

To this day, still one of the most blatantly wrong PI calls I have ever seen. Scirotto was playing the ball, and the Iowa WR who had no chance at the ball just ran right through him. It should have been offensive PI, and it would have ended the game.

As with all Penn State gripes about how the refs totally and 100% fucked them, I like to see if I can find the game on Youtube and see for myself. Here's that glorious 2008 game against Iowa, fast forwarded to the play in question.



These are the kinds of things they complain about ad naseum, until everybody just adds it to the long list of proven factual examples of the B1G screwing them over.

That’s classic. It’s PI on that play. I could see being ticked off as a fan thinking it might be a close play and the defender has a right to the ball, but in the end it’s really hard to complain about that call. It certainly isn’t egregious.

You're giving them too much credit. A defender isn't allowed to go through a WR to try to make a play on the ball. It doesn't matter if he was intending to impede the WR or not....you can't just blast through the WR on the way to the ball and act like you didn't do anything wrong. And then to claim that it should have been OFFENSIVE pass interference? :lol:

Away from? Watchu talkin' 'bout, Willis? They won those championships fair and square but had them stolen by corrupt AP voters, coach voters jealous of Success With Honor, Richard Nixon, Great Lakes voters, Big Ten refs and Delany's hit squad who murdered Mike "Anabolic" Maui (RIP).
