He fvcked Penn State.
He may have ****ed Penn State, but the BOT royally royally royally ****ed Penn State.
Spanier was a stupid, arrogant, lazy son-of-a-bitch (and my opinion of him wasn't too much higher ante Sandusky). He couldn't be bother to talk to McQueary himself. Further, when he knew that someone closely associated with PSU was being investigated for child sexual abuse, he should have directed preparations for the worst, even though he expected nothing would come of it.Frankly, I'm not confident that he would have done any better than the blithering morons who followed him.
He is a bum who didn’t take the necessary steps to protect PSU and help the victim. Anyone rooting for him against the University is a scumbag.
I'm confused. Joe Paterno learns of a sexual abuse on campus and he "does the right thing" by telling his boss. But when Graham Spanier learns of a sexual abuse on campus, he was supposed to help the victim.
Seriously, I'm not confused at all. One man was a cult hero, and the other was not.

There are some arguments about whether Spanier was good guy or not. They quickly degrade to "OH yeah? Well I'm rubber and you're glue..."

But they're not a cultIn all fairness, the last post you quoted about Spanier not helping the victims came from getmyjive11, who is probably the most hated poster on BWI. Getmyjive11 routinely get slaughtered on BWI and labeled as a BoT shill/ass-kisser because he has a conscience and routinely says it was Joesus and his minions that effed the university by not doing anything to stop the abuse. The detectives over on BWI may not have been able to track down Tug Speedwell, but they did post pictures of getmyjive11's house and had a good laugh among themselves about his air conditioner window unit.
As far at the 2014 "championship" for the buckeyes there was a game in State College PA that year that was so biased by the refs it was unbelievable.
The game should never have gone to overtime. OSU was gifted a field goal where the ball was not snapped until five seconds after the play clock expired. With the five yard penalty it would have been at or over 50 yards, improbable. Then we have the review where the review equipment "malfunctioned" only time it happened in the history of review and it worked flawlessly the remainder of the game. The Beaver Stadium video boards were showing the play, an obvious overturn of another buckeye gift but refs painstakingly avoided all view of the replays as the crowd sat in amazement and disgust. If your equipment malfunctions but you have other equipment that shows the information obviously why do you refuse to utilize it? The resulting gift turned into a touchdown. 10 points of gifts in a game that went to OT. So much for the MNC, a very sore spot although not the first buckeye gift at Beaver Stadium. I saw first hand the double bounce interception given to the buckeyes as two refs stared at the turf where the ball had dribbled prior to "the interception".
Yes but that double bounce interception actually bounced 8 times, so he's giving us a break there.I was pretty sure that the field goal attempt was only four seconds after the play clock ran out.
