Penn State Cult (Joe Knew)

Stupid pedsters. Every lawyer and exec who had a hand in the decision to get into a pissing match with the insurance companies over the settlements seriously needs to be terminated immediately. That's just a rank level of incompetence. That being said, I'm glad they did follow that path because it definitely led directly to the greater good of the evidence once and for all coming out that Paterno had covered this shit up for decades to protect his image and his football program.

THEY JUST WANT THE TRUTH!

I love how they've always been so certain that each investigation or court case will bring out the "truth." They were certain that Freeeh was going to exonerate JoePed and then they were certain that the lawsuits were going to. It's only after JoePed is drug further into the gutter that they start attacking. Can't wait to see what Pulitzer Prize worthy words of wisdom will be flowing from JayPed's pen in response to this new shit that's come to light.

My goodness you are right. I forgot about Jay. Yes he will probably be on the rampage.

Forgot about Jay, too. Happily. Well, on the plus side, there's a genetic predisposition to many cancers. Having said that, it occurs to me that JoePed idolization is a form of spiritual cancer, so, there you go.

THEY JUST WANT THE TRUTH!

Joe Paterno: You can't handle the truth!

Son, we live in a stadium that has walls, and that stadium has to be coached by men with fingers. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lieutenant Saban? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for John Doe 150, and you curse the Nittany Lionss. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know -- that John Doe 150, while tragic, probably saved wins; and my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, we won games.

You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me to win games -- you need me to win games.

We use words like "honor," "code," "loyalty." We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending Sandusky. You use them as a punch line.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the number of wins we provide and then questions the manner in which we provide it.

I would rather that you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a football and helmet and get your ass on the practice field. Either way, I don't give a DAMN what you think you're entitled to!

Here's a juicy (well, wet and soapy, anyway) quote from the Washington Post article:

Doe 101 also testified it was well-known to the team and coaches that boys stayed in Sandusky’s room with him in the team hotel the night before home games in State College, and that he routinely showered with Sandusky and other coaches – including Paterno – and no one raised an eyebrow as Sandusky lathered up a boy who was not his son and engaging in “horseplay.”

BWI has put out the bat signal for Lubrano. They're in full meltdown/spin mode.
I guess. But not really. They apparently knew/expected this to come so it almost seems like they are just acknowledging that PSU handled the investigation poorly and that if they'd handled it correctly, the "truth" would have come out. These folks are really sad/lost. Their ideology is that PSU upper admin tried to get this done quickly to keep this out of the limelight and 1) it hides the truth that Paterno was innocent and 2) they failed to keep it out of the limelight. So they still see this as an executive failure of admin and this news, in their minds is even a validation of their belief! It's not even spin to them. So lost, dreadful.

This, from the Seattle Times, is not a happy quote. It's the first time I've seen it.

McQueary said Bradley told him that he’d been approached by someone in the ’80s who saw Sandusky “doing something to a boy” and that in the ’90s, former assistant coach Greg Schiano saw Sandusky in the shower with a boy.

“Greg had come into his office white as a ghost and said he just saw Jerry doing something to a boy in the shower,” McQueary testified.

IMO, if accurate, he needs to go. (I originally said "if true" but that sounded too much like Pedster-speak to me.)

Just posted in the Schiano thread, but I think you have to part ways with him as well.

I just don't see how you can employ a guy who potentially saw the molestation of a boy in a shower and did nothing....essentially the same thing Paterno and the rest of the cult has been accused of.
